This new programme continues our mission to ensure UK racing talent has a chance to shine and isn’t held back because of financial barriers but it also offers much more than this; it takes a more holistic approach to supporting our drivers.
The Young Driver Development Programme will operate its own separate points table within the championship but as drivers are also competing within one of the core championship categories: Pro, Pro-Am or Am, they have the opportunity to win even more prize money.
The end-of-season prize fund is set at £55,000 and the breakdown is as follows:
In addition, a premium wristwatch will be awarded to the driver who accumulates the highest number of fastest laps over the season.
In association with Michelin, the Young Driver Development Programme will provide three sets of control slick Michelin tyres plus technical training on how to get the best from them.
The
Off track, eligible drivers will benefit from a media training session and a bespoke team kit will differentiate them in the paddock.
