The 221 kW (300 hp) Panamera Diesel is driven by a 3.0-litre turbo diesel V6. Fuel is injected directly by a common-rail injection system, which operates at pressures of up to 2,000 bar to ensure effective mixture formation. The watercooled exhaust gas turbocharger with variable turbine geometry (VTG) produces up to 3 bar boost pressure – for maximum volumetric efficiency of the engine and a high torque of 650 Nm between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. Engine control and throttle response are designed for direct and rapid engine responsiveness and excellent starting characteristics.
As a result, the Panamera Diesel accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 6.0 seconds. Its top speed is 259 km/h. Its standard fuel consumption in the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) is just 6.4 l/100 km.
