Germany’s largest island, Rügen lies just off the Baltic coast in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. A region offering a wealth of contrasts, this is where the expanse of the world’s largest brackish sea meets the tranquil bays along the coast, majestic chalk cliffs line the fine sandy beaches and verdant forests give way to stark heathland. Explore the countryside in a car that is also full of contrasts. Experience the seamless combination of performance and practicality, form and function of one of our Porsche sportscars – the ideal way to explore the Baltic coast and one of its most traditional and beautiful resorts – Binz.
This new tour starts in Hamburg. From Germany’s second-largest city, set off in one of our Porsche sportscars along the motorway towards Rostock. The route then continues along country roads to the Baltic coast. Stop off in the little fishing village of Ahrenshoop and enjoy lunch in the house where the artist Elisabeth von Eicken once lived. Cross the Rügen dam to the island, which is famous for its numerous shady avenues lined with tall trees. Follow the German Avenues Route to the Baltic resort of Binz and your destination for the night, the Kurhaus Binz. This magnificent five-star hotel is situated on the promenade close to the famous pier. After arriving at the hotel, you can relax over a welcome drink and a gourmet dinner.
Enjoy impressive panoramic views over breakfast at the hotel, before taking to the wheel of the Porsche to explore some of the region’s main attractions, including the Mönchgut peninsula and Putbus with its neoclassical architecture. Travel to Sassnitz, where you briefly step out of your Porsche to board a cutter for a tour of Rügen’s most famous landmark, the dazzling white chalk cliffs along the coast of the Jasmund peninsula. Relax over a gourmet dinner in the evening.
Set off in one of our Porsche sportscars for the return journey to Hamburg, followed by individual departure or an extended stay in the Hanseatic city.
