The Porsche Club Dominican Republic was founded in June 2001. It already lists 40 members today, all proud owners of a Porsche. The foundation weekend in June 2001 started with a reception at the local importer AutoEuropa S.A., where Mr. Horacio Alvarez, the President of the Club, together with Dr. Thomas Staertzel, the President and Managing Director of Porsche Latin America, welcomed the audience.

The main event of the weekend was a driving trip to a local restaurant with typical Dominican food. The tour started in the morning and lasted till the early afternoon. Thirty Porsche Cars drove through the beautiful Dominican landscape to the famous restaurant "Tipico Bonao" for lunch. The sight of the cars amazed plenty of onlookers. Next, the Porsche Club Dominican Republic is planning a driving event at the "Ciricuito de las Americas" as well as a weekend event driving from Dominican Republic to Puerto Rico, crossing the sea on ferry. We already can't wait for this event!
