Byron Mullens took a brief hiatus during his professional basketball journey but returned to the court with New Taipei Kings in March this year. In a short span, he underwent weight loss, team integration, and embarked on a remarkable comeback journey. He even clinched the Porsche MVP honors for November and February as the season began.
The Comeback and the Pursuit of Dreams
Mullens had once retired to be with his growing child, but this year, he decided to make a comeback, driven by the desire to have his family, especially his son, continue seeing him on the court. To make a triumphant return, Mullens shed 50 pounds (23 kilograms) in a single summer, going from 320 pounds (145 kilograms) to 270 pounds (122 kilograms). He diligently hit the gym every day, took control of his diet, and achieved his goals through unwavering determination.
"I've given my all along this journey, persisting and refusing to give up. No matter where I've been, I've maintained this mindset."

Overcoming and Achieving
In 2016, Mullens experienced a torn ligament in his right foot. It wasn't just a physical injury; he faced various challenges in life. However, as his son grew and began understanding basketball and his father's profession, the child became Mullens' greatest support. Mullens personifies the essence that Porsche has always upheld - "Overcoming adversity and reaching goals." Perhaps it's the lows and setbacks that have shaped him into the experienced player, a seamless teammate, and a proud father he is today.
