Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, remains on the growth track in North America. In April 2004, 3,546 vehicles were delivered to customers in the USA and Canada, a 13 percent year-on-year rise from 3,129 units. The sports car manufacturer thus posted the best April result in the history of the Group.
The success of the Cayenne is unabated, even more than one year after the launch in North America. On the most important Porsche market 1,829 units of the Sports Utility Vehicle were sold, a plus of 26 percent.
There was also a friendly picture with sports cars. Deliveries in April 2004 moved up to 1,705 vehicles (previous year 1,678 units). While the Boxster at 567 units was 22 percent down year-on-year, the 911 with 1,138 units posted a strong plus of 20 percent, the classic car impressively demonstrating its continuing popularity. There was again strong demand for the Cabriolet versions of the Carrera 4S and the Turbo from the 911 model line.
