Tailored for China - the new Taycan 4 makes its global debut and available for orderPorsche works with Audi on the Charging network in China

• The new Taycan 4 is specially designed for Chinese consumers, with stronger perfor-mance and fully upgraded luxury and comfortable equipment.

• It comes standard with Performance Battery Plus with a capacity of 105 kWh, all-wheel drive, adaptive air suspension, and Porsche Electric Sport Sound. With a maximum power output of 380 kW (517 PS), the new Taycan 4 sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

• The new Porsche Connect is deeply integrated into the local digital ecosystem and allows customers to use Chinese third-party applications such as QQ Music and Bilibili.

• At the Volkswagen Night, an event on the eve of the auto show, Porsche announced to work with Audi on the Charging network in China to meet the growing demand for electric mobility and create a premium and convenient charging experience.

Shanghai/Beijing. Following launched the 7 newly Taycan models, the all-electric sports car family has welcomed a new member - the new Taycan 4. Being tailor-made for China, the new Taycan 4 combines higher performance with fully improved luxury and comfort equipment, aiming to meet the needs of Chinese consumers for a more powerful and practical sports car. The upgrade of the new Taycan 4 includes many innovative technologies such as the more efficient and safer Performance Battery Plus fitted as standard with a capacity of 105 kWh, optimized chassis systems, and the ability to keep outputting peak performance consistently. With a system output of 380 kW (517 PS), it completes the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. What’s more, the CLTC combined range reaches 676 kilometres. The new Taycan 4 also comes standard with many high-value features including adaptive air suspension and Porsche Sport Chrono Package to enrich and diversify the driving experience.

In addition to the improvement in performance equipment, the fully upgraded luxury standard equipment improves driving and riding comfort significantly. Features such as BOSE® Surround Sound System, Porsche Electric Sport Sound, ParkAssist including Surround View, Comfort Access, 14-way power seats, privacy glass, and two electric charging port cover allow customers to enjoy pure driving more comfortably. The new Matrix LED Headlights have exquisite high-tech optical components that make driving safer. What’s more worth noting is that to further optimize customers’ experience, popular third-party applications like QQ Music are now available from the local App Market on Porsche Communication Management (PCM) based on Chinese customers’ preferences.

Longer range and faster charging

The overall efficiency of the new Taycan 4 is significantly improved. It not only has a longer range but also charges faster. the new Taycan 4 features a modified pulse inverter and optimized software, an improved thermal management system, the next-generation heat pump, and improved recuperation and all-wheel drive strategies. The maximum recuperation power is increased to up to 400 kW at higher speeds. What’s more, the new model also uses aerodynamically optimized wheels and tires with lower rolling resistance. All of these features have significantly increased the CLTC combined range to 676 kilometres.

In terms of charging, the new Taycan 4 can be charged at up to 320 kW, an increase of 145 kW over the predecessor, when charging at an 800-V DC charging station. Additionally, the fast charging window of the new Performance Battery Plus has been significantly expanded. This means that charging power of more than 300 kW can be sustained for up to five minutes, and the high charging power can be achieved more quickly even at low temperatures. At 15 degrees centigrade, the new Taycan 4 charges from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. As a result, Porsche’s concept of efficient mobility is realized. It allows customers to choose to either drive efficiently or charge fast in their journey from point A to point B.

Comprehensive improvement of localized digital services

With the launch of the new Taycan, the PCM experience has been taken to a new height. Extensive software applications further enhance the interaction between customers and their new cars. The PCM not only comes pre-installed with many localized applications but also offers a wealth of applications from the third-party App Market for customers to download and use. These include Apple Music, Kuwo Music, Himalaya, and Bilibili, etc. You can download QQ Music from the third-party App Market, and then listen to and subscribe your favorite songs in the shortcut module on the homepage. In addition, Porsche Connect is available free of charge for 10 years and covers all connected services such as finding tools, streaming services, online navigation services, voice guidance, app market, remote control functions, breakdown calls and more. The new "My Porsche" app supports basic car functions, smart connectivity, and charging, as well as owner service appointments, delivery ceremony appointments for prospective owners, vehicle order status tracking, and online viewing and test drive appointments for potential customers. Meanwhile, Apple Watch is supported.

In terms of map software, you can download Amap, Baidu Map, and display them on the instrument cluster, the central display, and the passenger display as required. What’s more worth noting is that in terms of communication, Apple CarPlay has now been more deeply integrated into the car’s displays and functions; you can also view and send WeChat messages or make a WeChat voice call on these displays. In the future, PCM will provide you with access to more applications. Porsche China will focus on the local digital ecosystem and continue to strive to optimize customers’ experience with their cars.

Expanding the ecosystem of electric sports cars - Porsche collaborate with Audi on the Premium Public Charging network in China

To meet the growing demand for electric mobility, Porsche has collborated with Audi, a brand of Volkswagen, on the Premium Public Charging network in China. With this, the joint Premuim Public Charging network will reach over 900 charging piles in 50 cities, which allow vehicles to charge at up to 480 kW. Porsche has been expanding its charging network in China since the launch of Taycan, according to real life scenarios and travel habits of Porsche owners.. Today, the Porsche Public Charging network has covered high-end business areas in 29 provinces, 8 national and provincial motorways (mainly in service stations and surrounding areas), and leisure destinations such as luxury hotels, golf courses, and marinas. The collaboration with Audi on the Premium Public Charging network will further expand the ecosystem of both brands and provide Chinese customers with a premium, more convenient, and more efficient electric mobility experience.
