The latest masterpieces of electromobility: New all-electric Macan and new Taycan 4

The new all-electric Macan is performance-oriented and completely newly developed based on the PPE platform. The new car features a range of cutting-edge technologies including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with two-valve technology, rear-axle steering, electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management (ePTM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus). Thanks to its particularly sporty seat position and low centre of gravity, as well as its impressive driving dynamics and steering precision, the new Macan delivers a real sports car feeling. In addition, the car also demonstrates high performance in other aspects such as power, charging, range and recuperation. The all-electric Macan boasts up to 300 kW (408 PS) and 470 kW (639 PS) of power output in its Macan 4 and Macan Turbo versions, respectively. With peak torque figures of 650 Nm and 1,130 Nm and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 and 3.3 seconds, respectively, both variants have a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery, achieving a maximum range of 784 km (WLTP conditions in urban areas) on a single charge. With a charging power of up to 270 kW, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent (SoC) within approximately 21 minutes at a suitable fast-charging station. They have a drag coefficient of 0.25 and can recuperate up to 240 kW of energy while driving, further illustrating the Porsche E-Performance concept.

The China-specific new Taycan 4, inheriting the family gene, not only has more power, but also benefits from breakthrough improvements in range and charging speed. It comes standard with the 105 kWh Performance Battery Plus, has a power output of 380 kW (517 PS), and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Thanks to an upgraded pulse inverter with optimized software, optimized thermal management, a next-generation heat pump and improved recuperation and all-wheel drive strategy, as well as an increase in maximum power of recuperation up to 400 kW, its range reaches 676 km under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) conditions. In addition, as a China exclusive model, it is equipped with a range of high-value equipment, including: adaptive air suspension and Sport Chrono Package delivering more diverse driving experience; BOSE® Surround Sound System, Porsche Electric Sport Sound, ParkAssist with Surround View, Comfort Entry, 14-way seats, privacy glass, electric charge port doors bringing pure driving pleasure; and new matrix LED headlights with exquisite high-tech lighting components, enhancing driving safety.

More than innovation: Focus on digital technology and service upgrades

To meet the mobility needs in the electrification era, Porsche continues to deepen its digital technology and services, bringing a breakthrough upgrade experience to new cars. For example, for the first time, the new all-electric Macan comes with an augmented reality (AR)-powered head-up display (HUD) that projects color AR content accurately into the real-world environment almost seamlessly. Innovations in charging technologies enable the new Taycan to achieve up to 320 kW of power and charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.

In addition to such innovations, Porsche's connected experience has also been taken to a whole new level. The Porsche Charging Planner, available for the first time on the all-electric Macan, is fully connected to A-Maps and provides a highly customizable travel experience for the all-electric Macan, bringing a comfortable, efficient and anxiety-free travel experience. Efficient parking services make customer’s journey free from parking limitations. In addition, rich applications once again deepen the user’s interaction with the all-electric Macan, which comes preinstalled with apps such as Kuwo Music, Himalaya, Leting and iQiyi. Additionally, Tencent Aiquting, Bilibili, Volcano Car Entertainment, and many more apps are available through app markets, which further meets the needs of audio and video in the car. The new Taycan’s smart connectivity system adds many localized apps such as QQ Music compared with the previous model, and deeply integrates Apple CarPlay into the display and various functions. WeChat also supports viewing and sending messages, or making direct WeChat voice calls. In the future, more apps will be made available. Moreover, Porsche Connect will be offered 10 years free of charge, encompassing features such as search tools, streaming services, online navigation, Voice Pilot, app store, remote control functions, emergency call, and many other connected services.

Moreover, Porsche and Audi will cooperate on an exclusive charging network in China to meet the growing demand for electrified mobility. This further enriches the premium ecosystem of both brands, and brings a better, more convenient and more efficient all-electric mobility experience to Chinese users.
