A machine born to race: limited edition Porsche 911 GT3 RS now available for order in China Pure racing DNA for passionate driving

Porsche 911 GT3 RS is now available for order in China in limited numbers exclusively through Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Ltd. (PMAP) at RMB 3,009,992.

Exclusively for racetrack use, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is supported by a wealth of usage scenarios, including the Porsche Sport Cup China, Porsche GT Trackday, and various track experience events.

Porsche’s continuous introduction of high-performance sports cars demonstrates the importance it attaches to the development of motorsport and sports car culture in China.

Shanghai. Motorsport has been embedded in the DNA of the brand since Porsche’s birth. Over the years, Porsche has accumulated more than 30,000 race victories, making it one of the most successful brands in motorsport. Since entering the Chinese mainland market, Por-sche has transferred its innate passion for motorsport to this fertile ground, and has been constantly introducing high-performance sports cars to meet the expectations of its Chinese enthusiasts. Now, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS – another born-to-race machine with a long-established reputation among enthusiasts as a high-performance sports car – is being intro-duced to the Chinese mainland through Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Ltd. (PMAP) and will be available for order in a limited run at RMB 3,009,992. Deliveries will begin from the fourth quarter of 2023 in Shanghai Jiading Comprehensive Bonded Zone (SJCBZ).

Varied usage scenarios to meet expectations of Chinese customers

The 911 GT3 RS available to customers in the Chinese mainland is exclusively for racetrack use. A limited number of these track-only cars are available for customers to purchase exclu-sively from Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific. The 911 GT3 RS is eligible for the Porsche Sports Cup China, Porsche GT Trackday, and the Porsche Track Experience and driving ex-perience at the Porsche Experience Centre Shanghai. Furthermore, the car can be used for private or public track days, bonded exhibitions as well as for private collection.

In terms of the purchasing process, an interested customer needs to have a company regis-tered in the Shanghai Jiading Comprehensive Bonded Zone (SJCBZ), then sign a contract between his or her company and PMAP, so as to purchase the 911 GT3 RS in RMB. From the fourth quarter of 2023, PMAP will deliver the car in SJCBZ to its customers, who will be able to store the car at SJCBZ warehouse when not in use.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS: pure racing DNA that awakens inner passion

When it was first launched, the 911 GT3 RS has completed the 20.8 km Nordschleife of the Nürburgring in 6:49.328 minutes, underlining its uncompromising design for maximum perfor-mance. With its 386 kW (525 PS) naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine, the 911 GT3 RS features the same lightweight power unit as can be found in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car. As an ultimate sports car boasting the "RS" suffix, the 911 GT3 RS serves as a per-fect expression of lightweight design, coming in at just 1,450 kilograms. Even beyond the high-revving naturally aspirated engine with racing DNA and intelligent lightweight construc-tion, it is, above all, the cooling and aerodynamic systems of the 911 GT3 RS that connect it directly with its motorsport heritage. At 285 km/h, the total downforce is 860 kg, more than twice as much as its 991.2-generation predecessor.

High-revving naturally aspirated engine and lightweight construction

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS with the 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, revs up to 9,000 rpm and generates an output of 368 kW (500 PS) at 8,500 rpm, and has a weight-to-power ratio of around 2.76 kg / PS. Maximum torque of 450 Newton metres at 6,300 rpm. Combined with a short-ratio seven-speed PDK transmission, it goes from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.

The lightweight construction has also been significantly improved, including the extensive use of CFRP for the rear wing with active aerodynamics and the wheel deflectors with optimum ventilation design. In addition to this, the doors, front wings and roof are made from CFRP. And of course, the GT3 RS aluminium lightweight forged wheels and more all bring significant advantages to the track.

Taking aerodynamics to the extreme

Porsche performance and cornering speed are only possible with strong downforce. The im-proved aerodynamics of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS takes its track performance to a higher level thanks to the Porsche drag reduction system (DRS), which is derived from racing technology. Together with the Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA), the rear wing and the two sets of ac-tive fins hidden in the front bumper are automatically adjusted by the vehicle's lateral and lon-gitudinal acceleration, the position of the accelerator and brake, and other vehicle data in a very short time to achieve optimum aerodynamics.

The aerodynamic design at the front of the car reduces the air vortex and the air flow behind the transmission mechanism to increase downforce by up to 40 kg at top speed, which is an advanced technology derived from race cars. Same as the GT cars, the 911 GT3 RS features a large central radiator, which improves brake cooling and aerodynamics while ensuring suffi-cient downforce compared to the usual three-radiator layout.

In addition, the front bumper sides and the open front wheel arch wings, as well as the special inward-contracting door fronts, effectively accelerate airflow through the sides, creating a low-pressure that removes hot air from the wheels, and provides auxiliary cooling for the brakes. All aerodynamic components are intricately coordinated, which maintain the car’s aerodynamic balance and ensure maximum driving stability at high speeds.

A standard configuration focused on pure experience

The exterior of the 911 GT3 RS is available in Ice Grey Metallic and features LED headlights in black including Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and Exclusive Design rear lights. The interior also has sporty characteristics, being designed to only feature functional and er-gonomic essentials. The extreme sports interior features Race-Tex fabric in GT silver contrast, with interior components in the same colour as the car paint and silver grey seat belts. A white tachometer plate and a white Sport Chrono timer plate are also installed as standard. The standard full-size bucket seats provide particularly good lateral support, while the driver and passenger's seat both come with the 6-point harness, to keep in a fighting stance. Even more, the interior features a Manthey Racing roll cage which is a titanium/steel mix, resulting in a weight reduction of 12 kg compared to a conventional steel roll cage. Other configurations included a road-legal 1 kg fire extinguisher, Rear Parking Assist including reversing camera, bespoke door sill guard in matte carbon, and much more.
