Porsche Centre Jakarta unveils the new PanameraPorsche's highly anticipated 4th model line has arrived.

In celebration of the launch of Porsche’s highly anticipated 4th model line, the new Panamera was unveiled on the evening of 23 October 2009, at the Ritz Carlton Pacific Place, Jakarta. The landmark event was officiated by Mr. Herbert Kwee, CEO of PT. Eurokars Artha Utama, the official Porsche importer in Indonesia.

The Porsche-filled car park probably would have given away that something big was going on inside the ballroom of the Ritz Carlton. Indeed, it was a big day to “witness the launch of an extraordinary creation and milestone, a showcase of the latest engineering marvel by Porsche; the start of a new automotive dimension: the 4th dimension”, said host of the evening, popular local actress and model, Ms. Isabell Yahya as she welcomed the guests to the ballroom.

The spectacular evening began with a video introduction of the Panamera, following which guests mingled over canapes and cocktails as local jazz band, IZI, filled the room with soothing jazz tunes.

Guests were then greeted by the opening speech delivered by Mr. Herbert Kwee. Directly after this, a further introduction to the new Porsche Panamera was given by Mr. Christer Ekberg, Managing Director of Porsche Asia Pacific. A Panamera video feature was shown afterwards, heightening the guests’ enthusiasm to have a personal, up-close view and feel of the actual car itself.

And finally the most anticipated moment of the night had arrived - as the lights dimmed and a spectacular show of laser lights shone all over the ballroom, guests held their breath in anticipation. As the tempo of the music increased, a silver Panamera 4S was dramatically revealed as the surrounding white curtains fell away. Split seconds later, a Panamera S and Panamera Turbo were driven in, each seated with 4 models.

The launch continued with the Porsche Design Driver’s Selection (PDDS) fashion show, with the models showcasing apparel and accessories from both the latest Panamera and Martini Racing PDDS collections. This included the smart, stylish trolley bags that can be customised to match the exterior colour of the new Porsche Panamera. To further showcase the storage capacity of the Gran Turismo, the models demonstrated by fitting in four trolley bags and a golf bag with ease into the luggage compartment – a feat not commonly seen in most luxury sedans.

After an exhilarating visual feast, it was time for guests to enjoy the sumptuous dinner, which completed this great event with a wide spread of popular local and international cuisine.

Having experienced firsthand Porsche’s new, stunning and exquisite luxury sports sedan, all guests were given a miniature metal car model of the new Panamera, as well as a coffee book as a souvenir for attending the launch. As guests left the event filled with positive impressions and memories of their first encounter with Porsche’s 4th model line, we can safely say that for many, it certainly won’t be the last.
