Porsche - Motorsport Centre Flacht

Motorsport Centre Flacht

Motorsports history isn't written in a couple of hours, days or even weeks. Motorsports history has to develop. Or be developed – by our engineers, for example. With enthusiasm and many years of experience. Concentrated in one place: the Motorsport Centre Flacht.

Some of the world's most technically sophisticated race cars are born in this state-of-the-art complex adjacent to the Development Centre Weissach. Such as the 911 GT3 Cup, 911 RSR and 919 Hybrid – Porsche’s 17th overall winner of the 24h of Le Mans. Not only the engine, transmission and chassis are assembled here. The vehicles are developed completely from scratch in over 12,000 square metres of well-lit construction halls. From the initial sketch to the final lap on the dedicated test track. And everything is close at hand: the LMP1 headquarters, for example, combine all the development departments under one roof. The workshop assists with design and development. The wind tunnel and test rigs simulate performance under real-life conditions. The specially developed high-voltage equipment is used to test and perfectly calibrate the latest hybrid technology. Another important component is the driving simulator, where technical changes are simulated and immediately tested by our works drivers. There is even a separate area for pit stop training, where teams practise for the real thing and the battle for every hundredth of a second.

This is why Flacht is the cradle of motorsports. The birthplace of every Porsche race car. The source of new technologies. And all with a single objective: to create the sports car of the future.
