Dr. Kjell Gruner takes over marketing at Porsche AG Marketing expert switches to Porsche
Stuttgart. A change in marketing at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart: Effective immediately, Dr. Kjell Gruner (43) will take over leadership of the Main Central Marketing Department from Gerd Mäuser (52), who is leaving the company by mutual agreement. Gruner was Head of Strategy at Mercedes-Benz Cars and in his new position will report to Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG.
Bernhard Maier stated: “We would like to thank Gerd Mäuser for his many years of unfailing commitment to the company. His contribution to the successful launch of new products in the markets over the last few years have been crucial and sustainable. In Kjell Gruner we were able to secure a high-profile marketing expert, one who not only has Porsche in his genes, but also has many years of experience in strategic brand development as well as in subjects that are central for our future, such as electromobility.”
A marketing expert with a degree from graduate management school WHU Koblenz, after starting his professional career with Boston Consulting Group, Gruner worked for Porsche from 1999 to 2004, where among other things he was responsible for a number of strategic projects, as well as for marketing planning and marketing stra-tegy. From 2004 to June 2010 Gruner was with Daimler AG, most recently as Director of Strategy for Mercedes-Benz Cars. Here, in addition to the strategy business area, he was also responsible for e-mobility issues and cooperation with Renault-Nissan. On July 1st, Gruner took on the position of managing director of the ‘Automotive Institute for Management’ at the European Business School, but has now followed a call to join Porsche.
