This Time All Winners of the Porsche David Award come from GermanyPrizes for the Best Commercials in the World Made by Students

Stuttgart. Yesterday evening the Grand Finale of the Porsche David Award was held once again at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg, with prizes going to the world’s best advertising commercials made by students. This is the fourth time that Dr. Ing.  h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is supporting the annual contest for the Porsche Prize for Young Talents in International Advertising Commercials as the main and title sponsor.

The following productions by young film-makers reached the winners’ podium: First place went to Johannes Kümmel of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy for his commercial ”Rainbow Warrior”, the second prize went to Tim Günther, also from the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy, for his commercial ”Schumann”. Eva Zillekens of the HFF College for Television and Film Munich won the third prize for her commercial ”Wardrobe”, and the fourth special prize for his particularly original commercial “Clink” went to Tilman Braun of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy.

Apart from the overall artistic achievement, the international jury made up of renowned experts and specialists also assessed the interaction of the idea, the script, the director’s performance and the camera work in each production. All four winners each received a “David“ trophy for their work. Reflecting the model designation of the classic Porsche 911 sports car, prize money also went to the top three winners – Euro 3,911 for first place, Euro 2,911 for second, and Euro 1,911 for third place. The fourth prize-winner received flight coupons worth Euro 1,200.- from the co-sponsor of the competition,  Germanwings.

Awarding the “David“ trophy designed as a catapult sculpture – in gold, silver, bronze, and natural rock – Porsche, as the smallest independent car maker in the world, wishes to pass on its philosophy to young film students that, maintaining the right qualities and features, a so-called “David“ can most definitely hold his own successfully against the many ”Goliaths” in our world.

“Regardless of whether you are among the winners today – you have all shown your courage and determination by participating in this competition. You have faced the challenge and you have invested a lot of time and energy. For this you all deserve our recognition and acknowledgement”, stated Stefan Büscher, Porsche AG Director of Marketing Communication, in addressing the finalists.
