Porsche buys Dürr AG site in Stuttgart-ZuffenhausenNew opportunities for expansion at sports-car manufacturer's HQ

Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany, has bought the site of Dürr AG in Zuffenhausen. Representatives of Dürr and Porsche signed an agreement to this effect yesterday. The previous owners of the Dürr site were primarily leasing companies. With the purchase, Porsche has created new expansion opportunities, for the administrative departments in particular, at its HQ.

The Dürr site, which measures 68,000 square meters in all, borders directly on Porsche Plant 1. Around 100 of the sports-car manufacturer’s workforce are to have their offices moved to the new site in summer 2007 already. It is unlikely that Porsche can take over the site completely until early 2009, however, when the 900 Dürr employees move from Stuttgart to the company’s new, enlarged Bietigheim-Bissingen base.
