New Cayenne boosts Porsche sales in North AmericaRecord figures for March – Sports cars accelerate rapidly also

Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has been on course for growth since the sales launch of the new Cayenne in North America. In March 2007, the manufacturer of sporty premium vehicles delivered 3,461 vehicles in the US and Canada despite the continuing poor market environment; this corresponds to an increase of three percent as against March 2006, when unit sales amounted to 3,363. Thus, Porsche has achieved its best sales result in North America for the month of March in the history of the Company.

At 1,424, deliveries of the 911 last month were up 18.8 percent on the figure for the same period of the previous year of 1,199. 1,113 Boxster series units were sold in the US and Canada, of which a total of 635 were either a Cayman or Cayman S. The Boxster itself performed extremely well: with 478 units as against 461 in March 2006, figures were up by 3.7 percent. In total, the series grew by 5.7 percent year-on-year.

922 units of the new Cayenne were already delivered to customers in March. While this is a decline of 16 percent as against March 2006, the new generation of the Cayenne has only been in showrooms in the US and Canada since March 3, 2007. Also, not all dealers in North America had yet received all model variants as of last month.
