Sports cars fuel Porsche sales in North AmericaBest November sales figures on key market

Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has significantly increased its sales in North America - by far its most important market. In November 2005, the manufacturer of sporty premium vehicles delivered 2,794 vehicles to customers in the US and Canada; a 9.7 percent increase on the equivalent figure in the previous year of 2,547. Driven by the new generations of sports cars, Porsche has therefore achieved its best November sales figures in North America in the history of the company.

Deliveries of the 911 increased by 18.8 percent to 980 vehicles. The new four-wheel drive variants of the 911 Carrera, which were launched in North America on November 5, have already contributed to this growth. 33 units of the high-performance sports car, the Carrera GT, were sold in November, up from just 18 units in the same month of the previous year. Sales of the Boxster were particularly strong: deliveries of the roadster in North America increased by 311 percent to 436 vehicles.

Measured against November 2004, deliveries of the Cayenne were down by 15.8 percent to 1,345 vehicles. However, this is a considerable increase compared to the past few months of 2005 - and this is in spite of the fact that Porsche is not joining in the current price wars in the US.
