Porsche announces record registration figures for 2004 in GermanyAll three model lines record increases – growth from new generations of sports car

Stuttgart. In 2004, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, recorded the best registration figures in Germany in the history of the company – despite the overall weak condition of the domestic market. In total, 16,223 Porsche vehicles were registered, an increase of 13.8% against the previous year.

Boxster, 911 and Cayenne: all three model lines have contributed to the growth over the past calendar year. 3,231 Boxster units were registered (plus 9.3%), the 911 recorded 6,863 vehicles (plus 12.1%) and registrations of the Cayenne were up 18.1% to 6,019 units in its second full year of sales. These were joined by 60 registrations of the high-performance sports car Carrera GT.

Bernhard Maier, Managing Director of Porsche Deutschland GmbH: "Porsche's engine speed increased once again in 2004 and, with the launch of the new 911 and Boxster, we have completely modernized our model range of sports cars. None of our three model lines is over two years old – we are thus in an ideal position to continue to succeed in competition in future."

Due to the high number of orders received Porsche Deutschland is optimistic regarding business in 2005. In addition to the new Boxster and the 911 Carrera Coupe, the new 911 Carrera Cabriolet will also bring more growth. The new Cabriolet will be launched on the markets across Europe in early April in time for the start of the "fresh air" season and, like the Coupe, will be available in basic and S variants.
