Day after day – PorscheThree sports car calendars for 2005 with fascinating artwork
Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is again offering sports car fans an attractive range of calendars for the coming year. There is a choice of three large-format, decorative wall calendars, each focusing on a different theme.
The calendar "Powered by Porsche" features dynamic action photographs of current Porsche models, with particularly impressive pictures of the sports series vehicles for the 2005 model year – from the Boxster through the 911 and the Cayenne to the Carrera GT – in large-format color photos. This decorative calendar measures 59 x 55.5 centimeters and, in keeping with tradition, comes with an additional collector's coin. The price in Germany is €33.64 including VAT.
"Shaping the Spirit", the title of the second calendar, offers an insight into the creative work of sports car designers at the Porsche Development Center in Weissach. The attractive illustrations from the styling studio feature a range of different looks at models from the new 911 and Boxster generation. These pictures communicate to the observer a sense of the extensive design work that goes into producing the clear, timeless, classical styling that distinguishes a Porsche sports car and makes it so unmistakable. This calendar, which measures 50 x 70 centimeters, comes with a CD-Rom with two screensavers and two short films on the creation of the images, as well as a postcard set with all 13 calendar designs. It is priced at €54.52 including VAT.
"Wind Tunnel" is the name of the historical Porsche calendar for 2005. It shows a range of thoroughbred race cars from the history of the revered sports car manufacturer. The Porsche cars were photographed – as the title suggests – in a wind tunnel. "In these photos, we made a deliberate decision for this technical backdrop," explains Klaus Bischof, Manager of the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen and head of historical public relations. "We want to show how much our drive for aerodynamic perfection has stamped the particular esthetics of Porsche racing cars." The graphically meticulous and elaborate photos are accompanied by informative pieces covering all aspects of aerodynamics. Naturally, there is also plenty of motor sports history, as the "Wind Tunnel" motifs also recall some legendary Porsche pilots from racing decades past: Steve McQueen and Mark Donohue, Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips, Edgar Barth, Stefan Bellof and Gerhard Mitter. The 42 x 60 centimeter historical calendar is divided down the center by a vertical spiral binder. This way, come New Year's Eve 2005, the calendar can be simply folded up, put back in the slipcase supplied and placed on your bookcase as a collector's album. "Wind Tunnel" costs €33.64 including VAT.
