Cayenne ensures growth for Porsche in IndiaPorsche names official importers for India and Yemen

Stuttgart. From June onwards, 911, Boxster and Cayenne vehicles will be sold in India by an official network of Porsche dealers for the first time. Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart is laying the foundation for further growth in the region with two new importers. The Indian market will be handled by Porsche Middle East, headquartered in Dubai.

The Porsche dealerships in New Delhi (Exclusive Motors Private Ltd.) and Mumbai (Shreyans Motors Private Ltd.) will be joined by more in the coming months. Mark Bishop, Managing Director of Porsche Middle East said: "There have been Porsche enthusiasts in India for many years. With the Cayenne, it now makes economic sense to enter this market."

By the end of fiscal year 2003/2004 (31 July), the Stuttgart based automobile manufacturer plans to sell more than 2,000 vehicles in the Middle East, equivalent to almost trebling vehicle sales by Porsche in the region.

In addition to the expansion of the Porsche sales network in India, Porsche vehicles will also be sold in Yemen for the first time from June. The quality of the dealership organisation in the region's existing markets will also be further improved. Renovations or new construction projects were completed in Kuwait City (Kuwait), Dubai and Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and Beirut (Lebanon) in the past twelve months.
