Porsche sales continue to grow in North AmericaBoxster special model in the starting blocks

Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has again recorded strong sales growth in North America. In February 2004, the sports car manufacturer supplied a total of 2,185 vehicles to customers in the USA and Canada. In comparison with the 1,186 units in the same month last year, this equates to an increase of 84 percent. Porsche thus achieved its second best February sales result in North America in the company's history.

Once again, the Cayenne featured decisively in the increased sales figures. In February, 1,301 units of the sporty off-road vehicle were supplied to customers. Falling sales arose in the core sports car business. Deliveries in this segment fell back to 881 units (down 26 percent). 608 vehicles were sold from the 911 series (down 11 percent), and at 273 units the Boxster series was 46 percent down on last year. The special model to celebrate '50 Years of the 550 Spyder', due to be launched on the North American market in March, is in the starting blocks. This roadster will give the Boxster series a positive boost even before the cabriolet season gets underway.
