E-Performance guide.
The benefitsYour path to electric and hybrid sports cars.Step into a new era of mobility and leave any reservations far behind you with maximum driving pleasure. Porsche E-Performance combines energetic dynamics with pioneering comfort and state-of-the-art technology.
100% electric, 100% Porsche.

Breathtaking acceleration with full torque from the very first metre. Unmistakable Porsche design with electric aesthetics. Sports car DNA with characteristic Porsche day-to-day usability. We will remain true to ourselves in the future and combine tradition with innovation.

Responsible driving pleasure.

Whether gliding quietly or cornering: all-electric driving is not a sacrifice, but an experience – without local emissions. This makes every all-electric Porsche an exciting symbol of environmentally conscious use of valuable resources.

Convenient charging.

Most charging takes place at home, usually overnight. Porsche supports you in installing the appropriate charging accessories. Charging on the road can also be easily incorporated into everyday life thanks to the Porsche Charging Planner, Porsche Charging Service, simple authentication at public charging stations, Porsche Charging Lounges and Porsche Destination Charging (market-dependent). And the My Porsche App helps you keep an eye on everything.

Modern design. Highest quality.

Our all-electric models re-interpret the classic Porsche design language – but remain clearly recognisable as Porsche, with pronounced fenders, the unique Porsche flyline and a wide, sporty rear end. The Porsche Wallbox for charging your Porsche electric vehicle also combines timeless elegance with the latest technology (market-dependent). Always unchanged: quality with the Porsche stamp.

Good to knowLong outdated: the best-known myths. There are a lot of myths associated with the switch to electric cars. However, due to rapid progress, the conditions have noticeably improved – and many of the myths are long outdated. Which ones exactly? Find out more here.

Myth #1: Charging stations are hard to find.

Publicly available charging stations can be found in no time, for example by using the My Porsche App. The Porsche Charging Planner in your vehicle automatically integrates ideal charging stops along your planned route to make your journey as pleasant as possible.

Myth #2: Charging takes much longer than refuelling.

If you take into account paying, a snack break and a toilet break when refuelling on long journeys, the difference is smaller than you might think. Since the charging process, unlike refuelling, does not need to be monitored, it also offers completely new freedoms. This allows you to conveniently charge while shopping or working. More time to breathe also leads to greater safety on long journeys. And with home charging solutions, you rarely charge on the road in everyday life.

Myth #3: There are not enough charging options.

When it comes to charging options, many people first think of fast charging parks, which are always increasing in number. And there are also more and more charging stations becoming available in private car parks, for example in front of supermarkets or gyms. Many companies also offer charging options for their employees. With Porsche Charging Service, we provide access to over 1 million charging points and are constantly expanding our offering (market-dependent). With our Porsche Destination Charging partners, for example, and our own infrastructure, such as the Porsche Charging Lounges.

Myth #4: The payment process is non-transparent.

Connect. Confirm. Pay. Thanks to the Porsche Charging Service (market-dependent) with a transparent pricing model and central monthly billing.

Myth #5: Charging is complicated.

With us, charging is as fast as overtaking with push-to-pass technology: it happens at the push of a button. Once authenticated, you can charge at any time at any charging point in the Porsche charging network. The charging process can be started conveniently using the Porsche Charging Card, the My Porsche App, the Porsche RFID key tag or even with Plug & Charge at certain charging pedestals (market-dependent). You can also see the current charging status of your sports car at any time, no matter where you are, using the My Porsche App.

Charging technologyThe foundation of convenient charging. Two types of charging plugs have become established for charging electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles: for AC and DC charging. AC charging for plug-in hybrids – and AC and DC charging for fully electric models. The new generation of the Cayenne can even be charged wirelessly at home, if desired.

Charging plug compatibility.

Our plug-in hybrid models are equipped with an AC charging socket. Our all-electric models have two charging sockets – left and right. All of them are compatible with the Type 2 plug, which has become the standard in Europe for charging at AC charging stations. The additional second charging socket on our all-electric Porsche models is also suitable for DC fast-charging stations with CCS2 connectors. This allows you to charge conveniently from any side, so you don’t have to awkwardly pull the cable over your car.

Type 2 (AC) charging plug.

This type of plug is used at AC charging stations (alternating current). Since the battery of an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle can only accept direct current (DC), alternating current (AC) is converted in the car during the charging process.

CCS2 (DC) charging plug.

This type of plug is used at fast-charging stations (DC charging stations). At these charging stations, alternating current (AC) is converted into direct current (DC) and relayed to the battery of the electric vehicle.

Porsche Wireless Charging.¹

The new Cayenne Electric can be charged inductively – at up to 11 kW. The charging plate of the Porsche Wireless Charging System is suitable for garages and carports, as well as open-air parking spaces.

STATE OF CHARGE (SoC).

The ‘State of Charge’ (SoC) is the battery charging condition of an electric battery. This is calculated in relation to the maximum capacity of the battery and is usually expressed as a percentage. So 0% corresponds to an empty battery and 100% to a full battery. The SoC indicates how much range the vehicle has.

The SoC also influences the charging speed. If the SoC is below 60%, the vehicle will charge quickly. If the SoC is below 30%, it will charge even more quickly. From about 60%, battery charging slows down significantly. This is the case with all all-electric vehicles. But a Porsche is still a sports car at the charging station. The Macan, for example, is capable of accessing over 200 kW of charging output up to about 55% state of charge. It can charge up to 250 km of range in just ten minutes – so you can continue driving in no time. For everyday use, we recommend charging your sports car to approximately 80%. This is the fastest, most efficient method – and it is also better for the battery.

¹Charging time for direct current (DC) with maximum charging output from 10% SoC to up to 80% SoC under optimal conditions (CCS fast charging pedestal with > 320 kW, > 850 V, battery temperature 25°C and initial SoC 9%).
