For Tim Lingerfelt, four decades spent restoring Porsche vehicles gave him more than a career — it gave him a standard: a relentless, unforgiving vision that demands craftsmanship in every line, every gap, every detail. It's the kind of mastery clearly evident in his 1976 911 Turbo, commonly known as "The Bicentennial Baby."
Tim started in the auto body business at 13 years old. During his summer breaks he’d sweep, sand, prep, whatever it took to be around cars. By age 16, he knew this would be his dream career. By 18 he was winning state and national auto competitions. He now has over 45 years’ worth of experience and is well-known in the Porsche community as a true craftsman. One of Tim’s most famous restorations is his 1976 911 Turbo. In celebration of the USA’s 200th birthday, Tim painted the 930 Guards Red and gave it white leather seats with blue carpets. In celebration of the country’s 250th birthday, Tim took delivery of a brand new 911 Turbo S in 2026. The intention was the same: Guards Red, white leather, and blue carpets. Fifty years apart, both cars honor the past and point toward a more exciting future. And that is Tim Lingerfelt in a nutshell. In one breath, he’ll be paying homage to his automotive mentors. In the next, he’ll be passing on what he’s learned to a new generation of car lovers.
