The most honest reviews of the Porsche Cayenne come from the riders in the backseat.
Six kids. The Porsche Cayenne. No script.

Ask any car enthusiast what makes a Porsche special, and you'll get answers about engineering, heritage, rare options and colors. Ask a kid buckled into the backseat, and you'll get the same answer — just a little louder and a lot less filtered.
That was the idea behind Backseat Riders: put six kids in the backseat of a Cayenne, put a professional driver behind the wheel, and let the reactions do the talking. Filmed at the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles — and shot by director duo Hudson Dusters at Greenpoint Pictures, known for a blend of cinematic but documentary-style filmmaking — the film pushed the Cayenne through everything the track had to offer: from straightaways to off-road climbs. Just a Porsche doing what a Porsche does, and six kids feeling what that's like in real time.

Leading the interviews — and along for the ride — is Julian Shapiro-Barnum, the mind behind Recess Therapy, known for pulling genuinely hilarious, unfiltered commentary out of kids on camera. The kids say whatever feels true in the moment. So experiencing the Cayenne off-road climb results in a pure, instinctive "I'm just a kid!" from Lennox. Ask about handling, and eight-year-old Molly doesn't reach for car-review vocabulary; she just clarifies, "You mean holding onto the handle?"

Which is the whole point. A Porsche is engineered for precision driving most owners will spend a lifetime learning to appreciate. Put a kid in the seat, and they get it instantly. Not necessarily the specs, but the feeling. The sound. The sheer, uncomplicated joy of performance. It turns out the purest review of what a Porsche can do doesn't come from an expert — it comes from the backseat.
