Self-help methods are available to you to protect your connected vehicle data and vehicle location. Additionally, if you are a victim of domestic abuse residing in a state which gives you the right to request the termination of a person’s access to your connected vehicle service (including the ability to view a vehicle’s location), you can submit a connected vehicle service request by following the instructions below.
Enabling Privacy Mode disables all data transmissions to and from your vehicle except those that are legally required or necessary for operation, such as eCall (emergency call). With Privacy Mode active, you cannot use any connected vehicle service, including accessing your vehicle’s location and data via the My Porsche app. Model-specific instructions for enabling Privacy Mode can be found here.
If you are the Main User of a vehicle and would like to remove a Secondary User from accessing vehicle data, you can follow the steps below from the main Vehicle page in the My Porsche app:
SELECT THE GARAGE ICON IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER > SELECT YOUR VEHICLE > ‘ADD/MANAGE SECONDARY USER’ > CLICK THE TRASH ICON NEXT TO THE SECONDARY USER’S NAME AND CONFIRM DELETION REQUEST
*A notification to the Secondary User that their vehicle has been removed will be sent.
Please note that Secondary Users do not have the ability to remove a Main User from a vehicle via the My Porsche app.
Send an email to disconnectrequest@porsche.us with the subject line [“EMERGENCY DISCONNECT”]. Identify whose access you would like to terminate. Please be sure to include the following required information:
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
Proof of legal possession of your vehicle established through
For California: either (1) legal title to the vehicle or (2) a dissolution decree, temporary court order, or domestic violence restraining order that awards you possession or exclusive use of the vehicle.
For New York: (1) vehicle title with your name indicated as the owner; (2) vehicle title paired with a lease agreement that includes your name; (3) court order awarding you sole possession or ownership of the vehicle; (4) proof of marriage to the owner of the vehicle at the time it was purchased or leased; or (5) other proof as determined by the New York Commissioner of Motor Vehicles in conjunction with the Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence.
For Louisiana: (1) proof of ownership interest in the vehicle or (2) a certified copy of a judgment that provides exclusive use of the vehicle regardless of ownership.
New York ONLY: A signed written statement that you are a victim of domestic violence (as defined by NY law).
Louisiana ONLY: A certified copy of a protective order as provided by LA R.S. 46:2136 against the abuser that has been signed by a judge, hearing officer or commissioner, a temporary restraining order as provided by R.S. 46:2135 against the abuser that has been signed by a judge, hearing officer or commissioner, or any other official document that evidences that abuser has committed a covered act.
Upon receipt, we will send you a confirmation email with a reference number. We will review your request and contact you by email if we need additional information, or to tell you that your request has been approved or denied.
Unless otherwise specified here, your information is subject to our Privacy Notice. All documentation submitted will be treated as confidential and deleted within 90 days of completing your request. We will not share this information with any third party without your affirmative consent, unless sharing is necessary to complete the disconnection or in response to a court order or warrant.
To establish or re-establish a connection to your vehicle, you will need a valid Porsche ID and password. More details about the Porsche ID can be found here.
You can create a new Porsche ID or log into My Porsche using your existing Porsche ID at https://my.porsche.com or by using the My Porsche mobile app.
To add your vehicle to your My Porsche account, click on the Garage icon in the top right corner of the My Porsche app home screen, then click on ‘Add vehicle’ and follow the prompts.
Once the vehicle has successfully been added to your My Porsche account, simply log into your vehicle using your Porsche ID and password as detailed here. Logging into the vehicle is required to be able to access the full range of connected vehicle services in the My Porsche app.
