The World Endurance Championship (WEC) is a new world endurance championship held by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) under the auspices of the FIA. The WEC rules are the same as those used in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for LMP and GTE vehicles.
The IWSC—the top sports car series in North America—was created from a merger of the American Le Mans Series and the Grand-Am Series. The Porsche 911 RSR and Porsche 911 GT3 R will be competing in the IWSC.
