To generate powerful acceleration, Porsche has combined an e-hybrid system with a 2.9-litre V6 twin-turbo petrol engine developing 304 PS (224 kW). With 140 kW (190 PS) and 450 Nm of torque, the completely new electric motor offers significantly more power than before. The system output of 470 PS (346 kW) and the maximum torque of 650 Nm enable acceleration from zero to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds and the capability of a 174 mph top speed.
The powertrain concept in the Panamera E-Hybrid can trace its inspiration back to the original technology pioneers such as the 911 GT3 R Hybrid, and, more recently, the 918 Spyder super sports car. Constant development has seen the latest Panamera offer a greater electric range plus faster charging speed, better throttle response and enhanced driving performance in almost all disciplines. And with 25.9 kWh (gross) capacity, the new high voltage battery provides around 45 per cent more capacity in a comparable space than the prior model.

All-wheel drive.
The 911 SC 4x4 won the Paris‑Dakar on its debut, testing all‑wheel drive in the harshest conditions imaginable. That same traction advantage runs through the Cayenne S E‑Hybrid, a sports car for five that covers any surface with ease.
1984 - Porsche 911 SC 4x4
While the 911 was no stranger to rallies (and indeed in 1967 Vic Elford won the first ever rallycross event at Lydden Hill in a 911 demonstrator on loan from the GB importer), in the 1980s the brand stepped up its participation in this branch of motorsport by entering a team in the formidable 10,000 km Paris-Dakar.
In typical Porsche fashion, there was a product development motive behind the initiative, and that was to test the 911 with all-wheel drive under the most extreme desert conditions, literally in the heat of competition. Powered by a specially tuned flat-six engine developing 225 PS and boasting a lockable centre differential for traversing challenging sand dunes and broken stones, the rear-engined 911 exploited its traction advantage to the full. And on its debut in 1984, the 911 SC 4x4 duly won the event in the hands of René Metge.
Lessons learned fed into the 959 project, which then saw this model entered into the Paris-Dakar in 1985 and 1986, scoring a 1-2 finish in the latter year. The 959 was the first series production Porsche with all-wheel drive, and thereafter, it was only natural that a Carrera 4 would be offered in the Type 964 generation of the 911.
The turbo bloodline.
In 1974 the Carrera RSR brought turbocharging to the 911, and to Le Mans, finishing second overall. Half a century on, the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet carries that idea into the hybrid era with two electric turbochargers and T‑Hybrid technology.
1980 - Porsche 924 Carrera GTP 002
Ten years ago, this legend of Le Mans was once again fired up in its newly restored condition, here at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone.
And this special occasion in the summer of 2016 was in turn 36 years since it last turned a wheel in anger. Following its starring role in the 1980 edition of the world-famous 24 Hours race, this 924 Carrera GTP had been in the storage archives of the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. The years had taken their toll, but in 2015 a team at Porsche Cars GB launched a unique restoration project, in partnership with skilled Classic technicians from the Centre network.
A glance at the colour scheme of this 924 gives a clue to why it holds such a special place in the story of Porsche in the UK. With its subtle Union Jack insignia as a clue, this was part of a three-car team entered by the Porsche factory in the 1980 Le Mans. There was a German, American and British team, united in a mission to test the mettle of the transaxle 924 sports coupe in the 24 Hour race.
Drivers of the British team car were experienced racers Tony Dron and Andy Rouse. The three 924 cars were entered in the Group GTP class, and the pairing of Tony and Andy finished 12th overall. The German team car was sixth, and the American car crossed the line in 13th place.
The new Porsche 911 Turbo S is the superior all-rounder among sports cars and the innovative twin-turbo powertrain with T-Hybrid technology makes the new 911 Turbo S the most powerful production 911 to date. And a true inheritor of the spirit of those early Porsche Turbos.
The 711 PS (523 kW) sports car with all-wheel drive combines outstanding performance with a high degree of long-distance comfort and everyday usability. The drivetrain features two electric exhaust gas turbochargers, delivering acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds, and the potential for a 200 mph top speed. And at the same time is 14 seconds faster on around the Nürburgring Nordschleife than the prior model.
A T-Hybrid powertrain first debuted in 2024 in the 911 Carrera GTS. The technology has been significantly further developed for use in the 911 Turbo S. While a single electric exhaust gas turbocharger (eTurbo) is integrated into the T-Hybrid system in the GTS, two eTurbos are used in the new 911 Turbo S. The turbine and compressor were specifically designed for this model, and the two eTurbos contribute not only to the considerable increase in performance, but they also improve the responsiveness of the powertrain. The particularly compact lightweight high-voltage battery with a capacity of 1.9 kWh is the same as the one used in the 911 Carrera GTS. An eight-speed PDK with an integrated electric motor transmits the power to the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system.
Hybrid power.
Developed purely for the track, the 911 GT3 R Hybrid led the Nürburgring 24 Hours for eight hours in 2010. The Panamera 4 E‑Hybrid traces its thinking back to that car, pairing grand touring comfort with an efficient, emotive powertrain.
2010 - 911 GT3 R Hybrid
The innovative hybrid technology of the 911 GT3 R Hybrid was developed especially for racing, and its configuration and components differed significantly from conventional hybrid systems. Not least, is that instead of the usual batteries in a hybrid road car, this 911 features an electrical flywheel power generator installed inside the cockpit beside the driver to deliver energy to the electric motors.
There are two electric motors developing 60kW each on the front axle, supplementing the familiar rear-mounted 480 PS 4.0-litre flat-six engine.
The car had a brief motorsport career, but a highlight was a phenomenal performance in the 2010 Nürburgring 24 Hours. For 22 hours and fifteen minutes, the sole 911 GT3 R Hybrid was always close to the front, and for eight hours it held a commanding lead. Though its retirement so late in the gruelling race (due to a mechanical issue unrelated to the electric powertrain) was a cruel fate after such an enthralling performance, it showed the potential for hybrid power in motorsport.

Maximum output.
The flat twelve turbocharged 917/30 was among the most powerful Porsches of its age, in its green Vaillant livery. The Taycan Turbo GT echoes both its output and its colours, an electric GT with the spirit of a legend.
1973 – Porsche 917/30
The car before you is 917/30 no. 001. Resplendent in its distinctive green ’75 Vaillant livery, this car was originally built as the factory development car and notably had an extendable wheelbase, which enabled it to appear in 917/10 form. Its first race was the 1973 German Interserie at the Hockenheim, where ‘Quick Vic’ Elford dominated the field, propelled by a formidable flat-12 turbocharged engine.
While its arguably more famous sister 917/30 chassis were cleaning up in the Can/Am championship in the United States, this car and a few other examples remained a mainstay of the Interserie championship for the next two seasons. In 1974, Herbie Müller drove this car to three wins en route to being crowned champion. It then enjoyed a sporadic but successful career before signing off with victory once again at Hockenheim, a triumph that was coincidentally also the final race appearance for a 917 in period.
At peak power, Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package can deliver more than 1,100 PS. In combination with various lightweight components and aerodynamic developments, the all-electric GT sports car raises the bar in terms of driving dynamics. The most powerful series-production Porsche yet, it can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 2.2 seconds and where permitted hit a top speed of up to 190 mph. An electric sports car, with the same remarkable output as a 917/30 from 50 years ago. And to underline the genetic thread, the same Vaillant colour scheme.
At firtst glance, a hint to the performance of this special Taycan is the specially developed front spoiler with aeroblades and an adaptive rear spoiler, the aerodynamic ‘tear-off’ edge of which features a Gurney flap in a high-gloss carbon-weave finish.
Under the skin is where the engineers have further boosted the electric performance. The pulse inverter is the key component for controlling the electric motor. In the Taycan Turbo GT, pulse inverters with a maximum current of 900 amperes are used on the rear axle. These deliver even more power and torque than the 600-ampere pulse inverter in the Taycan Turbo S. The transmission ratio and the robustness of the gearbox have also been improved, allowing for higher torque figures. The maximum torque in both versions is up to 1,340 Nm.
Versus the Taycan Turbo S the weight of the Turbo GT has been reduced by up to 75 kg. A number of carbon parts contribute to this, the material being used for the trims on the B-pillars, the upper shells on the door mirrors and the side skirt inlays, among other components. The full bucket seats made of CFRP, a lightweight luggage compartment and the omission of the electric soft-closing function of the tailgate also save weight.
Electric racing.
The 99X Electric is one of the fastest accelerating single seaters in motorsport, and a recent Formula E champion. Its 800-volt architecture and motor technology have helped inspire the powertrain design of the electric Macan GTS, the sporting, driver focused car in the range.

Having made its electrifying debut in Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the GEN3 Evo Porsche 99X Electric continues to leverage cutting-edge advances - making it the fastest accelerating FIA single-seater race car. Rocketing from 0 to 60 mph in around 1.8 seconds, it remains an astounding 30% quicker than current F1 cars. This leap in acceleration sets new benchmarks in electric racing technology and performance.
The Porsche 99X Electric sports an eye-catching livery inspired by the Taycan Turbo GT colours Purple Sky Metallic and Shade Green Metallic, merging the spirit of our race cars with our electric road cars.
The evolution model inherits Porsche’s most successful formula sports car to date: In its GEN3 version, the Porsche 99X Electric won the Drivers’ World Championship two years in a row – with Jake Dennis in 2022/2023, and with Pascal Wehrlein in 2023/2024.
The powertrain in Formula E cars isn't just the heart of the vehicle; it is one of the biggest differentiators between the teams’ cars. It's a pure testament to cutting-edge electric technology. Unlike traditional combustion engines, the electric motors deliver instant torque, propelling these cars from rest to top speed in a matter of seconds. The powertrain comprises of an inverter, engine and a regenerative braking system that captures energy during braking to recharge the battery mid-race - a feature that significantly boosts efficiency. For the first time, the 99X Electric GEN3 Evo features temporary all-wheel drive, used during Qualifying Duels, in Attack Mode, and at race starts. But the innovation doesn't stop on the track. This masterpiece of electric engineering isn't confined to race cars; the latest electric Porsche road cars feature the same advanced 800-volt architecture and oil-cooled electric motors found in the Formula E powertrain.
Porsche factory driver Pascal Wehrlein clinched the FIA Formula E World Drivers’ Championship in 2024 in the season finale at the London E-Prix, and the Porsche Team sealed the Manufacturers’ title in both 2024 and 2025.
The fourth car generation, GEN4, is set to be introduced for Season 13 (2026/2027).
Porsche has expanded its all-electric SUV line-up with the Macan GTS – a particularly sporting and driver-focused model. With up to 420 kW of overboost power, an electronically controlled rear differential lock and sports air suspension with lowered ride height, the GTS sets new standards for agility and driving dynamics. True to GTS tradition, the model features a distinctive cockpit ambience, dynamic poise and numerous dark-coloured accents. On offer are outstanding driving dynamics and exceptional acceleration figures: the sprint from 0-62 mph takes just 3.8 seconds, reaching 124 mph in 13.3 seconds, and with a top speed limited to 155 mph.
Like the Macan Electric Turbo, the Macan Electric GTS features the most powerful rear-axle electric motor in the model series. The power unit measures 230 millimetres in diameter, has an active length of 210 mm, and features a highly efficient 900-amp silicon carbide pulse inverter. In the Macan GTS, it delivers 380 kW (516 PS), rising to 420 kW (571 PS) of overboost power with Launch Control, and a maximum torque of 955 Nm.
Small but mighty.

The Macan T combines a powerful 265 PS turbocharged, four-cylinder engine with a tailored specification that celebrates the benchmark dynamics of the compact SUV.
Traditionally, “T” stands for “Touring” in the Porsche model lexicon and has been synonymous with driving performance since the 1960s. In the case of the Macan T, the unique chassis configuration further amplifies the typical Porsche qualities of responsiveness and agility.
The distinct character of the Macan T is highlighted by its athletic, lowered stance and dark titanium coloured 20-inch diameter alloy wheels. The interior of the car also has its own unique ambience, featuring black leather and Sport-Tex Stripe upholstery.
The 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine of the Macan T combines responsiveness, low mass and a compact design to create a package that offers an ideal balance of weight and performance. The engine has an output of 265 PS (195 kW) and 400 Nm of torque – characteristics that complement the character of the car and deliver an exhilarating drive. Racing genes.
Reliable as it was fast, the 962 was the car to have in endurance racing, filling nine of the top eleven places at the 1988 Le Mans. The 911 GT3 shares the same motorsport pedigree, mixed with road going usability, now in its twenty fifth year.
1988 - Porsche 962
Porsche enjoyed a streak of 12 outright Le Mans wins from 1970 up to 1988 – including an unbroken run from 1981! And while it was inevitable that this record would one day be beaten, it required an incredible effort to unseat Stuttgart from the top step of the podium.
In 1988 that challenger was the Jaguar team, which after a day and night of racing pipped the Shell/Dunlop liveried Porsche 962 to win the 24-Hour race by just over 2 minutes! Nevertheless, examples of the German race car filled (appropriately enough..) nine of the top eleven places. And while a British team might have won the race overall, a little-known fact is the distinctive red/yellow livery of the Porsches was designed by a Brit, Rob Powell.
Throughout this golden era of sports car racing, the Porsche 956 / 962 remained the race car of choice for any team or driver hoping to succeed in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Powered by a version of the 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged flat-six engine also seen in the 911 Turbo, the 962 was revered for being as reliable as it was fast.
The 911 GT3 has offered the ultimate combination of racing genes and day-to-day usability since its introduction in 1999. Introduced to coincide its 25th anniversary, the latest edition is offered for the first time as a track-focused sports car with a rear wing and as a more understated version with a Touring package.
Whether for the track or the road, the new 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 with Touring package features an exhilarating 4.0-litre naturally aspirated engine and shorter gear ratio. The Touring package offers an optional rear seat system for first time, and both are available with an innovative lightweight sports bucket seat with folding back rest function.
Low overall weight contributes to the agile and direct handling of the 911 GT3. A new, lightweight aluminium wheel reduces the unsprung masses by more than 1.5 kg compared to the prior model. Optionally, magnesium wheels are available with the Weissach package or the Leichtbau (lightweight) package. They save nine kilograms.
The 510 PS (375 kW 4.0-litre naturally aspirated engine delivers a gripping soundscape. The engine power of this latest iteration of the charismatic six-cylinder boxer engine was attained through a series of optimisation measures. The cylinder heads have been revised, and the sharper camshafts of the 911 GT3 RS provide even more dynamic performance in the upper engine-speed range. In addition, flow-optimised individual throttle valves and optimised oil coolers are used.
