Breathtaking acceleration with full torque from the very first metre. Unmistakable Porsche design with electric aesthetics. Sports car DNA with characteristic Porsche day-to-day usability. We will remain true to ourselves in the future and combine tradition with innovation.
Whether cruising in near-silence or cornering on the race track: All-electric driving is not a sacrifice, but an experience – without local emissions. This makes every all-electric Porsche an exciting symbol of environmentally conscious use of valuable resources.
Most charging takes place at home, usually overnight. Our recommended supplier for home installation services can support with installation of the Porsche Wallbox. Charging on the road can also be easily incorporated into everyday life thanks to the Porsche Charging Planner, Porsche Charging Service, simple authentication at public charging stations, Porsche Charging Lounges and Porsche Destination Charging. And the My Porsche App helps you keep an eye on everything.
Our all-electric models re-interpret the classic Porsche design language – but remain clearly recognisable as Porsche, with pronounced wheel arches, the unique Porsche flyline and a wide, sporty rear end. With the Porsche Wallbox you can charge your electric or plug-in hybrid Porsche conveniently at home. Always unchanged: Quality with the Porsche stamp.
Charging plug compatibility.
Our plug-in hybrid models are equipped with an AC charging socket. Our all-electric models have two charging sockets – left and right. All of them are compatible with the Type 2 plug, which has become the standard in Europe for charging at AC charging stations. The additional second charging socket on our all-electric Porsche models is also suitable for DC fast-charging stations with CCS2 connectors. This allows you to charge conveniently from any side, so you don’t have to awkwardly pull the cable over your car.
This type of plug is used at AC charging stations (alternating current). Since the battery of an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle can only accept direct current (DC), alternating current (AC) is converted in the car during the charging process.
This type of plug is used at fast-charging stations (DC charging stations). At these charging stations, alternating current (AC) is converted into direct current (DC) and relayed to the battery of the electric vehicle.
The new Cayenne Electric can be charged inductively – at up to 11 kW. The charging plate of the Porsche Wireless Charging System is suitable for garages and carports, as well as open-air parking spaces.
STATE OF CHARGE (SoC).
The ‘State of Charge’ (SoC) is the battery charging condition of an electric battery. It is calculated in relation to the maximum capacity of the battery and is usually expressed as a percentage. So 0% corresponds to an empty battery and 100% to a full battery. The SoC indicates how much range the vehicle has.
The SoC also influences the charging speed. If the SoC is below 60%, the vehicle will charge quickly. If the SoC is below 30%, it will charge even more quickly. From about 60%, battery charging slows down significantly. This is the case with all fully-electric vehicles. But a Porsche is still a sports car at the charging station. The Macan, for example, is capable of accessing over 200 kW of charging output up to about 55% state of charge. It can charge over 150 miles of range in just ten minutes – so you can continue driving in no time. For everyday use, we recommend charging your electric Porsche to around 80%. This is the fastest, most efficient method – and it is also better for the battery.
