Over 30,000 sports car enthusiasts flocked to the Dubai Design District in November 2025 to celebrate Porsche culture, cars and art at a Porsche community event like no other
Icons of Porsche in Dubai has grown into an annual festival where a global community of collectors, creatives, adventurers and lifelong enthusiasts gather to celebrate their passion for extraordinary cars and the personal stories behind them. The 2025 event, held in November, saw one of the strongest turnouts yet, with over 30,000 visitors flocking to the Dubai Design District. As sunlight swept across rows of classic Porsche cars and the latest Porsche models, people wandered through installations that turned the entire space into a living Porsche playground and were treated to world premieres too, like the new Cayenne Electric. Here’s the many moments that made Icons of Porsche 2025 one to remember. Official debut of the Cayenne Electric Just days after it was unveiled to the world across digital platforms, the Cayenne Electric made its global physical debut at Icons of Porsche Photo: PorscheOne of the most anticipated moments of the entire weekend was the global physical premiere of the new Cayenne Electric, a few days after it made its digital debut. With 1,156 PS of power in the Cayenne Turbo Electric – making it the fastest production Porsche ever released, as of November 2025 – and recuperation performance that matches Porsche Formula E race cars, the SUV is a technical marvel that visitors were finally able to see and feel up close. The Sonderwunsch Lounge For the first time, Porsche brought a dedicated Sonderwunsch Lounge to Icons of Porsche, and it quickly became one of the most popular spots on-site Photo: PorscheOne of the biggest attractions this year was the first-ever Sonderwunsch Lounge to feature at Icons of Porsche. This special space gave guests a rare chance to understand how deep the Porsche personalisation programme goes. Designers talked visitors through the process of shaping a completely personal Porsche, from selecting the base model to diving into nearly 200 Paint to Sample different options, custom rims, leather grades and interior details. Silver Martini-inspired 911 GT3 RS by Sonderwunsch This 911 GT3 RS from Sonderwunsch was a firm fan favourite across the Icons of Porsche weekend. It’s a build that plays with subtle contrasts: a predominantly silver exterior with soft red and blue touches inspired by the classic Martini Racing livery Photo: PorscheEven at a show filled with hundreds of Porsche cars, a handful still managed to draw crowds all day long. Ten bespoke vehicles – five from the Sonderwunsch programme and five from the Exclusive Manufaktur programme – formed the focal point of the festival’s theme of personalisation. One of the most admired of creations was a silver 911 GT3 RS with subtle red and blue accents, inspired by the iconic Martini Racing motorsport livery. This theme continued inside, where the interior was unexpectedly split into two sides – one featuring red stitching and seat belts and the other blue. This asymmetry made guests look twice and the car became an instant social media favourite. White 911 GT3 RS with green stripes and carbon fibre accents by Sonderwunsch A nod to the legendary 911 R from 2016, the Sonderwunsch 911 GT3 RS featured white paintwork, precise green striping and extensive exposed carbon fibre Photo: PorscheAnother standout. This white 911 GT3 RS is adorned with green stripes, in a subtle nod to the acclaimed 911 R from 2016. From its natural black and grey carbon fibre panels to the green-tinted sections on the bonnet and mirrors, the colour theme was carried through across the entire car. To achieve this, the Sonderwunsch team used a specialised painting process that allows the carbon weave to show through the green paint – a demanding technique that lends this 911 GT3 RS its unmistakable character. Porsche 964 inspired by a burger Combining the style of the legendary 911 Carrera RS from the 1970s with the performance of the 964, and finished in Paint to Sample Olive Green with frosted gold Fuchs wheels, this car was inspired by a cult Dubai burger joint Photo: PorscheBurger? Yes, you read that correctly. One of the most charming stories of the weekend came from Chef Sultan Chatila, owner of Eleven Green, Dubai’s cult burger restaurant, which has long been a favourite of locals and visitors alike.
Sultan Chatila has been quietly restoring his Porsche 964 while running a growing restaurant empire. He wanted the car to feel like an Eleven Green on wheels – one that was built with the same care, attention and no-compromise philosophy he brings to his food. Just like Chef Sultan Chatila’s food, every detail has been carefully considered. He sees his Porsche 964 as an Eleven Green on wheels Photo: PorscheThe car is finished in Paint to Sample Olive Green with frosted gold Fuchs wheels, blending the character of a classic 911 Carrera RS with the performance of the 964. People responded not only to how good the car looked, but to the story behind it. Sultan even admitted the name Eleven Green wasn’t meant to reference his love of green 911 sportscars – it just worked out that way. First-generation Cayenne that travelled 34,000 km to reach the Icons of Porsche Mateo Moussaoui, a Dubai-based adventurer, arrived at Icons of Porsche having driven to the event in his first-generation E1 Cayenne from Kuwait through 28 countries – a car that had already covered 276,000 km before he even started his epic roadtrip home Photo: PorscheNot all show cars arrived on trailers. Dubai-based adventurer, Mateo Moussaoui, drove his first-generation Cayenne – a car with an impressive 276,000 km already on the clock – through 28 countries and across 34,000 km to reach Icons of Porsche. And he did it with what is almost entirely the same base vehicle as when it was new. He has kept the original wheels, suspension and spirit of the model. The only upgrade was OEM Porsche headlights for safety. His goal was simple: to prove that a first-generation Cayenne still has what it takes to cross continents. His Cayenne, covered in the dust and dirt he accumulated during his mighty roadtrip, earning it the same kinds of admiring looks as all the new Porsche models surrounding it. 911 Targa 4 GTS art car One of the most popular cars at Icons of Porsche was this special 911 Targa. It’s part of the continued collaboration between Porsche and artist Kasing Lung, creator of The Monsters universe and the globally beloved Labubu Photo: PorscheAnother big moment was the next instalment of the Porsche collaboration with artist Kasing Lung. After their first joint project was revealed earlier this year in Taipei, the festival marked Kasing’s first-ever appearance in the Middle East. Fans of Labubu and The Monsters, which he created, came early to see this art car installation, which combined Porsche design with the playful universe of the artist. At the heart of the display was a limited metal sculpture of King Mon riding in a classic 911 Targa, strictly limited to 60 pieces worldwide. It was joined by a full-size 911 Targa art car, featuring a Dubai-inspired livery that was specially created by Kasing for the event. 2009 Cayenne GTS reborn with 1970s soul A real head-turner at the 2025 edition of Icons of Porsche was the complete restoration of a first-generation Cayenne E1 – something that Porsche had never done before Photo: PorscheThrough the Sonderwunsch Factory Re-Commission programme, Porsche restored and transformed a 2009 Cayenne GTS into a bespoke off-road dream with a nostalgic twist. The owner, American collector Phillip Sarofim, was inspired by the look of the 911 Spirit 70 project – his goal was to bring the same ’70s character to his Cayenne. Porsche refinished the car in Blackolive Paint to Sample, paired it with matte black lower bodywork, added coarse tyres for traction and fitted a US-style towbar for the Airstream caravan he plans to tow through the desert behind this elegant, striking vehicle. New 911 GT3 With Manthey Kit The latest Manthey kit for the 911 GT3 features enhanced aerodynamics and braking performance and a revised suspension system Photo: PorscheAnother highlight was the reveal of the new Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3, created in partnership between the Porsche development team and the engineers at Manthey. Guests learned how the kit dramatically increases downforce, improves cornering speed and enhances stability for track use. For track day drivers, it proved to be one of the most exciting reveals of Icons of Porsche. Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid Sonderwunsch Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid Sonderwunsch was another star of Icons of Porsche. Its exterior paint fades from Leblon Violet Metallic, which has small chestnut undertones, into solid black, and real gold flakes are embedded in the clear coat to give it extra shine Photo: PorscheAfter showing the exterior of the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid Sonderwunsch at last year’s event, Porsche used this year’s festival to reveal its matching interior. Guests gathered around to see how the two-tone theme continues inside the cabin. Concept pieces inside the Porsche Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid Sonderwunsch, like a cigar humidor and an illuminated sparkling wine cooler, proved just how far Sonderwunsch can go when a customer dreams big Photo: PorscheIts seats, parcel shelf and boarding folder feature a soft fade from black to Sunset Red. Avium metallic accents, which were created specifically for this project, can be found on the door trims, console switches, the Drive Mode ring and the Sport Chrono switch. Meanwhile, Barrique Red stitching and chestnut wood elements add warmth, while the seat badges display the coordinates of Zuffenhausen and Leipzig – the locations of Porsche HQ and the Porsche factory the Panamera was built in respectively. It’s a perfect demonstration of how the Sonderwunsch team can bring even the most unusual ideas to life with precision and care. 911 Turbo S Visitors to Icons of Porsche were handed the perfect opportunity to pore over the details of the 911 Turbo S Photo: PorscheAfter its premiere at IAA Mobility in Munich earlier in 2025, the new range-topping 911 model, the 911 Turbo S, was in the spotlight again in Dubai. With its innovative twin-turbo powertrain with T-Hybrid technology, the 911 Turbo S is the most powerful production 911 to date (as of November 2025), with an output of 711 PS (701 hp). Macan GTS The Macan GTS offers precise handling and sharp control in electric SUV form Photo: PorscheThe Macan GTS represents the sportiest chapter of the Macan Electric line-up. With up to 571 PS (563 hp) of overboost power, an optional rear differential lock and a lowered sports air suspension, the GTS possesses extreme agility in electric SUV form. Its bold exterior and interior accents make the newest member of the Macan Electric family stand out from Dubai to Denver.
