Porsche Classic recreates dashboard for classic 911 New development to original specifications

Stuttgart . It is back: Porsche Classic is reproducing the dashboard of the classic 911 of model years 1969 to 1975. A sophisticated manufacturing process combines high quality that meets today’s standards and a design that is true to the original down to the details. The dashboard consists of a modern substructure and the original surface structure. The fluted texture and tactile feel, gloss and degree of black are identical to the original. The new part can be ordered from any Porsche centre, and in Germany it costs 951.99 euros including VAT.

Like the technical equipment, the interiors of classic vehicles are subject to normal wear. Solar radiation as well as fluctuations in temperature and humidity attack the surface and materials. Today’s materials hold up better. Therefore, to preserve the long-term value of Porsche classic cars, Porsche classic re-engineered the dashboard. Extensive tests conducted to modern standards assure 100-percent fit precision and quality even under harsh climatic conditions.

As an original part, the dashboard, which also contains the loudspeaker cover, can only be installed by the original assembly procedure – which involves removing the windscreen. That is why Porsche Classic recommends the replacement by Porsche Classic partners who have trained experts.

Porsche Classic is the sports car manufacturer’s division that is responsible for supplying parts for all vehicles whose production time is generally over ten years in the past. This incorporates all aspects of maintenance and technical literature on the delivery and reproduction of original parts up to complete restorations. To facilitate optimal care and restoration of classic vehicles, the company is building up its international dealership and service network to around 100 Porsche Classic partners over the next several years. Porsche customers and interested parties can expect the entire range of Porsche Classic products and services from these partners. This lets Porsche integrate the maintenance and value preservation of both young and old cars into an innovative service concept, which closely intermeshes tradition and innovation by Porsche.
