Porsche Asia Pacific has just concluded the first half of the year and has confirmed steady result with total regional sales of 1,594 vehicles in the first half of 2014 (January 1st to June 30th) compared to last year.

The 911 Targa, 911 Turbo and Turbo S have started to be delivered recently and more in the later part of the year. In total, there were 136 units of the 911 delivered to customers and an additional growth is expected in the next six months. A total of 261 units of the mid-engine Boxster and Cayman were delivered while the popular Cayenne continued to largely contribute to the total regional sales with 907 units. Moreover, the sales of the Gran Turismo Panamera increased to 258 units, reflecting a growth of 37.2%. The newly launched fifth model, Macan, has just arrived in the Asia Pacific region with 32 units delivered so far and a strong increase in deliveries for the rest of the year is indicated by the high sustainable demand since its launch.

Martin Limpert, Managing Director of Porsche Asia Pacific, said that the high growth of the Panamera is mainly due to the deliveries of the second generation Gran Turismo, with the sophisticated plug-in hybrid as a popular choice in the region. “On top of that, with the new Macan, sporty Boxster GTS, Cayman GTS, and top range of the 911, we maintain optimistic view for the second part of this year.”

In Vietnam, the total number of deliveries in the first six months of 2014 has increased by 81% compared to the same period last year. In particular, the Panamera model range has grown more than six times in the total sales due to the deliveries of the second generation Gran Turismo.

“We are looking forward to launch the fifth Porsche model the Macan, in Vietnam soon. With the arrival of the Macan, we believe that it will appeal to many younger customers, especially those who value design, sportiness and elegance and expect excellent driving performance properties from Porsche.” said Andreas Klingler, General Director of Prestige Sports Cars Co.
