We found a country where practically every road is the scenic route, and we've been making the most of it ever since. It's been quite a ride. Five decades of cars, drivers, races, and the people who love them. We're proud of what we've built here together, but the best part is this: the journey's only just begun.

The Handshake

1976 to 1986 It started with a handshake. In 1974, Colin Giltrap turned a conversation in Geneva into the right to bring Porsche to New Zealand. The first cars arrived in 1976, and the country had its official Porsche importer the year after. The journey was underway.

The Club Takes Shape

1986 to 1996 The community came first. In 1975, ten owners answered a newspaper notice and founded Porsche Club New Zealand. By 1987 the club had launched its own racing championship, a series that would go on to run for 25 unbroken seasons and shape a generation of drivers.

Racing Finds a New Gear

1996 to 2006 The racing got serious. Purpose-built Porsche race cars arrived on the local grid for the first time, raising the bar for everyone competing. The club series kept turning out fresh champions season after season, and Porsche became a fixture of the New Zealand motorsport calendar.

A Kiwi Wins Le Mans

2006 to 2016 In 2015, Earl Bamber won the 24 Hours of Le Mans on debut, one of the great results in New Zealand motorsport. He did it again in 2017 alongside fellow Kiwi Brendon Hartley. Colin Giltrap, who backed them both, was knighted in 2012 for his services to the sport.

Next Generation

The story continues. A 2019 Porsche scholarship has backed young Kiwi drivers: Carrera Cup champion Callum Hedge, Supercars winners Matthew Payne and Ryan Wood, now Marco Giltrap and Tom Bewley.

Anniversary 911 GT3 Touring

Five 911 GT3 Tourings, one for every decade we've been here. Each finished in bespoke Yachting Blue and carrying Sir Colin Giltrap's signature.

Built for Our Roads

The GT3 Touring is made for the kind of driving we have here. A naturally aspirated flat-six that revs to the moon, a chassis that talks to you through every corner, and a clean, elegant shape that looks right parked or on the move. A pure driver's car at its most understated.

Six Speeds, By Hand

Our best driving roads were made to be savoured, and this car asks you to do exactly that. At its heart sits a six-speed manual gearbox. In an age of paddles and automation, rowing your own gears puts you back in charge of every shift, every corner, every climb.

Born to Sail

We're an island nation with sailing in our blood, so this car wears Yachting Blue Metallic, right down to the key in your hand. Mirrors and intakes match, with black trim, headlights and callipers to set it all off. A colour chosen for where we live.

Signed by Sir Colin

Every chapter of this story leads back to one man. On the passenger dash sits Sir Colin Giltrap's signature, etched into the inlay. A quiet nod to the person who built Porsche's story in New Zealand, and the reason there was fifty years to celebrate at all.

Fifty Years, Marked

Sink into the seat and there it is: the 50 Years logo embossed into the headrest. A small mark, but the whole point of the car. Half a century of Porsche here, pressed into the leather you sit against every drive.

Woven In

The 18-way sports seats are trimmed in a custom fabric of black, grey and blue, woven just for these cars. It's the kind of detail you feel before you notice it, and it sets the cabin apart from anything off the shelf.

Forged Wheels

Forged wheels keep the weight down where it matters most. Look closer and you'll spot blue inlays that pick up the Yachting Blue paint, with black callipers sitting behind. Built for the road first, but finished to match every other detail on the car.

One of Five

Open the door and the sill lights up, backlit and finished just for these cars. A small detail that sets each one apart, built to mark fifty years of Porsche in New Zealand. Five cars, one for each decade, no two quite the same.
