A night to remember: The launch of the new Cayenne in MalaysiaCayenne Launch Malaysia

On the evening of 31 July 2010, over 500 guests and members of the media gathered at the renowned Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club in Mont Kiara to witness the unveiling of the all new Cayenne model range and two new additions to the luxurious Panamera Gran Turismo family.

The evening started on a relaxed note as guests mingled over drinks and light refreshments, as members of the media were led aside to a concurrent press conference. Escorted by Porsche Ambassadors, all invitees were then led to the outdoor area, where the real program for the night was about to begin.

Welcoming the guests for the evening were emcee Ms. Elaine Daly and CEO of Sime Darby Auto Performance, the official Porsche importer in Malaysia, Mr. Arnt Bayer. Addressing the crowd for the first time since Sime Darby took over the importership in March this year, Mr. Bayer spoke of the many exciting plans which were in store to bring the Porsche brand in Malaysia to even greater heights.

Arriving in the new Panamera shortly after, Mr. Christer Ekberg, Managing Director of Porsche Asia Pacific kick-started the evening by welcoming all guests with an opening speech, speaking about the history and success that the Cayenne has enjoyed thus far. Following this, Mr. Bayer gave a short introductory speech on the highlights of the new generation Cayenne models.

And then it was time: guests were treated to a spectacular sight as the Cayenne models – the Cayenne S, Cayenne Diesel and Cayenne Turbo were driven in. As the lights dimmed dramatically, the Cayenne S Hybrid was the last to be revealed - driven in by long-time Porsche aficionado, Jeffrey Tan. Powered solely by it’s electric motor, the Cayenne S Hybrid cruised into the arena without a sound, as guests watched on eagerly.

Of course, the night was not complete without the guests getting an up-close view of the cars. Accompanied by the soothing beats of the Aseana Percurssion Unit, further treats in-store for the guests were a Porsche Design Driver’s Selection fashion show, and a grand lucky draw courtesy of Porsche partners Michelin and Mobil.

As the evening drew to a close, guests continued to mingle and enjoy light refreshments, as they took in the lively atmosphere and all that the new Cayenne models and Panamera additions had to offer. In the background, a dance party was just beginning - courtesy of DJ Victor Yanni.
