Fine Performance Consolidates Championship Chase Team Jebsen Roundup – Roundup – Rounds 7 & 8, August 26-28, 2011, Sepang International Circuit
Team Jebsen contested two gruelling races in the heat and humidity of Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit last weekend to maintain their strong position in the championship.
With two fourth place finishes, Team Jebsen and driver Rodolfo Avila of Macau now lie second in the championship standings, well within reach of the top spot with several races of the 2011 season still to come.
Team Jebsen began the weekend well, and were fastest on track during Friday’s practice sessions. However Saturday’s Official Practice showed they needed to find more pace from the
Avila made a good getaway and battled hard to remain at the front of the pack. Despite not being able to make up any places over the ten laps of the 5.6km track, he drove a clean race ahead of the chasing pack to cross the line in fourth.
The team worked hard analysing data and looking at set-up options overnight in preparation for Sunday’s Round 8. The race saw them again cross the line in fourth place. Whilst a little short of the Team’s record of podium finishes this season, it was a nonetheless a solid weekend which saw the Team collect more of the all-important championship points.

About Rodolfo Avila Car No: 20
Avila began his career in karts, attending the Macau Karting School at 14, and winning the Macau Karting International A (Group B) a year later. In 2002, he graduated to single seater racing, becoming the youngest driver ever to compete at the Macau Grand Prix, racing in the Formula Renault event.
He took the Asian Formula Renault Challenge championship title the following year, making his Formula 3 Grand Prix debut at Macau in 2004. His career continued its extraordinary ascent, with Rookie honours in the Asian Formula 3 Championship in 2005, finishing 5th overall. A season in the prestigious British Formula 3 Championship saw him end the year 4th in the National Class for newcomers.
