A handful of car enthusiasts dipped their toes into a race-track experience during the Porsche Brunei Roadshow. QAF Eurokars, the exclusive importer of Porsche in Brunei, hosted it from April 27th to 28th at Jerudong Park Pusing Lagi parking lot.

The event featured tailor-made courses consisting of slalom, emergency braking and lane change. It aimed to give Porsche owners and potential prospects the sensation of driving a Porsche. During the roadshow, participants learnt basic driving posture including seating distances and hand-to-wheel placement.

Under the guidance of certified Porsche instructors, participants experienced driving behind the wheels of Porsche’s latest models including the Macan S, mid-engine 718 Boxster, Panamera and Cayenne. The adrenaline got more intense when each participant also learnt first-hand from the experts during a high-speed passenger lap or Hot Lap inside the 718 Boxster and Macan S.

“The event allowed participants to experience the maximum performance of Porsche cars through consecutive courses aimed to sharpen their driving skills. This includes breaking, slalom and vehicle handling, all in one day,” he said. It concluded with participants receiving certificates and mementoes from de Silva.

Acting General Manager of QAF Eurokars Lahiru de Silva surprised participants with a sneak peek of the all-new 911 Carrera 4S as a display car ahead of its official launch. Porsche Centre Brunei also collaborated with prestigious brands for the event, including Michelin, a leading tyre manufacturer and Mobil 1, to supply top-rated tyres and engine oil.

According to the acting general manager, the Porsche roadshow in Brunei was based on Porsche World Roadshow (PWRS), a long-established professional driving event that has been held in over 45 countries.
