Porsche New Car Warranty extended by 3 months.

The current extraordinary situation has created challenges and restrictions for all of us in many respects. We continually strive to offer our customers the best service wherever possible and to make your everyday life a little easier, at least in terms of your mobility. To help achieve this, we are offering all customers with Porsche vehicles whose new car warranties ends between 1 March 2020 to 31 May 2020 , an additional 3 months warranty extension (with Assistance Service where applicable). In the event that the new car warranty meets the criteria above and that the current Porsche Approved Warranty has already been activated, customers will still be eligible for the additional 3 months warranty extension.

Hence, there will be no action required from the customers’ end. Should you still have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact your nearest Porsche Centre.

1. What exactly does the extension of warranty mean?

Due to the worldwide restrictions caused by COVID-19, every Porsche driver whose new vehicle warranty expires between 1 March 2020 to 31 May 2020 will receive a free extension of the new vehicle warranty for an additional three months.
Example: If the last day of your new vehicle warranty was on 20 March 2020, you will receive the extension for another three months until 20 June 2020. A new vehicle warranty ending on 15 May 2020 will be extended until 15 August 2020.

2. Which vehicles are covered by the extension of warranty?

All Porsche vehicles with new vehicle warranties expiring between 1 March 2020 and 31 May 2020 will be eligible for the free warranty extension for an additional 3 months. This also applies if you have already purchased a Porsche Approved Warranty following the expiration of your new vehicle warranty between 1 March 2020 and 31 May 2020.

3. What do I have to do to make this claim?

You do not have to do anything. If your vehicle qualifies for the warranty extension, your Porsche Center will automatically consider the extension.

4. My new vehicle warranty expired on the 20 February 2020. Am I entitled to the warranty extension?

No. Only Porsche vehicles with new vehicle warranties expiring between 1 March 2020 and 31 May 2020 will be eligible for the three additional months warranty extension.

5. If eligible, does the warranty extension include Porsche Assistance Service?

Yes. Porsche Assistance service (where applicable) is included in the additional 3 months warranty extension period.

6. I have already purchased a Porsche Approved Warranty following the expiration of my new vehicle warranty between 1 March 2020 and 31 May 2020. Hence, I am eligible for the additional 3 months warranty extension. But how will the warranty extension be incorporated into my existing Porsche Approved Warranty coverage period in this case?

The additional 3 months warranty extension will be automatically added to your current Porsche Approved Warranty coverage period. For example, a 2-year Porsche Approved Warranty ending on 15 May 2020, will be further extended until 15 August 2020.

Should you choose to sell your vehicle privately, the Porsche warranty extension is transferable* and may add to the attractiveness of your Porsche to prospective purchasers.

* The warranty is not transferable to another party (eg. a licensed motor vehicle dealer) if that party acquires the vehicle for the purpose of resale.

Warranty Extension Conditions

  • Porsche warranty extension is available on qualifying Porsche vehicles aged between one and nine and with a total mileage of less than 200,000 kms.
  • The warranty can be extended annually via your official Porsche Service Centre prior to the policy expiring, following a technical inspection.
  • If your vehicle's policy has expired, provided the ownership of the vehicle has not changed, the policy can also be extended once the vehicle has passed the multi-check inspection examination and any faults detected repaired using genuine Porsche parts.
  • All service tasks must be performed and documented as specified in the Warranty Guarantee and Maintenance booklet.

Warranty Conditions

  • The vehicle must continue to be maintained as described in the Warranty and Maintenance booklet.
  • The vehicle must not have been subjected to undue strains or used for purposes other than those for which it was intended.
  • The Porsche warranty is not available to be purchased by licensed motor vehicle dealers for any vehicle that will be sold in their business.
  • Warranty defects must be presented immediately to an official Porsche Centre.
  • The vehicle must be no more than nine years old and less than 200,000 km, with full service history and without modifications.
