A technological showpiece, the 959 was based on the 911 series and was manufactured in an exclusive production run of 292 units. With a twin turbo flat engine featuring water-cooled, four-valve cylinder heads, an electronically controlled chassis, an all-wheel drive system, as well as aerodynamically optimised bodywork, Porsche showed what was possible in the field of automotive design. Despite costing 420,000 Deutschmarks, the 959 sold out quickly.
