Porsche Centre Abu Dhabi contributes to national “Year of Giving” campaignEmirates Red Crescent receives donation following conclusion of Ramadan initiative

Abu Dhabi.Porsche Centre Abu Dhabi, Ali & Sons Co. L.L.C., this week donated AED 100,000 to Emirates Red Crescent, signifying the completion of a fundraising partnership. Aligning with His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s “Year of Giving” initiative, Porsche Centre Abu Dhabi gave a generous donation for every Porsche sold during the holy month of Ramadan to aid the volunteer humanitarian work carried out by the charity.

Speaking about the conclusion of their month-long partnership, Wissam Khalil, General Manager of Porsche Centre Abu Dhabi, said: “As a business based in the UAE, we have a responsibility to help improve the lives of the less fortunate in our communities. The partnership with Emirates Red Crescent was a perfect fit, as it enabled Porsche Centre Abu Dhabi to raise a significant donation over the holy month of Ramadan, which in turn will contribute to the good work that is being carried out on a daily basis.”

The Emirates Red Crescent is a volunteer humanitarian organisation that supports official authorities in spreading health awareness, disaster relief and establishing projects for those in need. The organisation also works to attract volunteers and educate people in international humanitarian law to support their goals. Porsche Centre Abu Dhabi’s donation will go towards funding ongoing projects that better the lives of communities and individuals.

The final donation was generated as a result of sales from Porsche Centre Abu Dhabi’s three dealerships in and around the UAE capital. They include facilities in the Rawdhat area, Mussafah and Al Ain. Located on Airport Road, the Rawdhat showroom features a 1,249 sqm space with capacity for 24 display vehicles, and is the latest addition to the company’s establishments.

A key success factor in generating the donation amount was the ongoing popularity of the Stuttgart-based manufacturer’s Macan and Cayenne SUVs. In combination with a range of Ramadan promotions on offer at the showrooms, both Porsche four-door models garnered interest from visitors, culminating in a 70 per cent combined share of total sales over the holy month.
