The 911 celebrated its premiere at the 1963 IAA in Frankfurt under the designation of the "Porsche 901". However, a French car company objected to the name because it had patented all type numbers with a zero in the middle. Porsche 911
At the end of 1964, the 356 successor that had been presented a year earlier at the IAA in Frankfurt, began to be delivered to customers. Compared to its predecessor, the 911 offered more interior space and greater driving comfort and, of course, it needed to have better road holding.Read more

Premiered in April 1965, this model had the bodyshell of the 911 but was fitted with a four-cylinder engine in the rear. Initially only sold in Europe, the 912 went on to become a bestseller, especially in the USA.
