Stuttgart. In September 2011, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, managed yet another significant increase in its customer deliveries: with 10,560 vehicles sold worldwide, the sports car manufacturer achieved an uplift of 37.5 per cent compared with the same month the year before. Between January and September of this year, Porsche delivered a total of 90,972 new cars to customers. This equates to an increase of 30.9 per cent compared with the same period in 2010.

Bernhard Maier, Porsche AG Board of Management Member for Sales and Marketing said: “We are ahead of last year’s good figures in all markets and with over 90,000 sports cars sold as of September are very close to our sales target of 100,000 units in 2011. That testifies to fascinating products and a very good performance throughout the entire value chain.”

All regions of the world posted growth in September 2011. The response from Chinese customers was again especially strong: with 2,146 deliveries, Porsche more than doubled its September 2010 performance in its second most important market. The most successful model in China was the Cayenne with 1.062 deliveries. The development in European deliveries was also very positive: vehicle sales of 4,133 vehicles translate into an increase of 39.5 per cent compared with the same month the previous year. With 488 units, the Panamera proved particularly attractive to European customers. Porsche reported a 32.9 per cent increase in its domestic market, Germany, in September 2011: precisely 1,342 new cars were delivered to customers. In September 2011 Porsche sold 2,337 sports cars in North America (USA and Canada), a 9.4 per cent increase compared with the same month the year before.

In September 2011, notwithstanding impending model changes, the sports car model lines also exceeded their previous year’s level. A particularly strong performance: 1,480 units (+ 19.6 %) of the classic 911 sports car were delivered, despite the unveiling of the successor model at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The phased worldwide launch of the new Porsche 911 Carrera will kick off in Europe on 3 December 2011. In the reporting month, 1,231 customers opted for the Boxster and Cayman mid-engined sports cars – a clearly 54.8 per cent increase compared with September 2010.
