Porsche Consulting trains doctorsProcess improvement in medical practices

Stuttgart. Porsche Consulting GmbH, Bietigheim-Bissingen, is now providing one-day seminars for doctors to help them organize their practices more efficiently in future. Under the rubric “Processes of Change in Medical Practices”, the Porsche Academy will be showing how the interplay of medical staff and practice personnel can be improved. The aim is to avoid wastage of every kind, thus reducing costs, while at the same time optimizing the care of patients. The seminars are recognized by the State Medical Chamber of Baden-Württemberg.

Eberhard Weiblen, Managing Director of Porsche Consulting, a sub-
sidiary of the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, comments: “In most practices, too much time is wasted on things which are not really much help to anybody. Our training sessions have the aim of pinpointing unnecessarily complex and superfluous aspects, and exploiting existing potentials and resources in everyday medical practice, as is customary in a well-managed company.” Doctors and co-workers alike - and especially the patients – all benefit from this.

In simulated situations and group work, seminar participants experience ways of optimizing the processes in their practice – without unnecessary waiting times for the patients and without ‘idle times’ for the personnel. “Well thought-out organization and streamlined process flows enhance the satisfaction of both patients and employees. This makes every practice more attractive and therefore more successful,” Eberhard Weiblen says.

In seminars, the Porsche Academy only works with content which it has developed itself and which it has already applied successfully in the case of the sports car manufacturer Porsche and other clients. As trainers, Weiblen uses Porsche Consulting employees who already have extensive experience of processes of change in hospitals. They have already carried out more than 30 consulting projects for clinics. Weiblen says: “Today’s automotive industry acts as a model for many sectors. Thus we have been able to transfer the principles of no-waste processes successfully from our enterprise to organizations in the health sector.”

The programs of the Porsche Academy address not only doctors, but also personnel and executives from many different sectors. Every year, more than 2,500 participants attend the training sessions.
