Porsche unit sales in North America remain highApril slightly below previous year’s record

Stuttgart. In April 2007, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, sold 3,248 vehicles in North America. Therefore, sales remain high in spite of continuing poor market environment. In comparison with the equivalent month of the previous year, when sales figures recorded in the USA and Canada reached an all-time high, this figure represents a 10 percent downturn. The success enjoyed by the manufacturer of premium sports vehicles is primarily attributable to the Cayenne and 911 series. In April, 1,075 vehicles of the new Cayenne were delivered to customers. This is a 9.4 percent increase on the same period of the previous year and shows that the new Cayenne generation, launched in March 2007, has met with an excellent reception in North America.

At 1,307 vehicles, deliveries of the 911 were on approximately the same level of 1,328 units in the previous year, with demand for the 911 Turbo especially pleasing. In the first four months of the year, growth of 12.2 percent was recorded for the series as a whole. Of the Boxster series, 866 vehicles were sold in the USA and Canada, 509 of which related to the Cayman and the Cayman S. Overall, the series declined by around 33 percent year-on-year.
