Magna Powertrain Germany GmbH is the Porsche “Supplier of the Year”Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer presents its “Supplier Awards 2007”

Stuttgart/Leipzig. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, based in Stuttgart, Germany, honored Magna Powertrain Germany GmbH, Roitzsch, yesterday in Leipzig as its “Supplier of the Year” for. The company has worked together with the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer since 2002 and is particularly convincing with its performance in the development and manufacture of powertrain systems and components. Thus,
Magna Powertrain supplies the transfer case for the sporting off-road vehicle Cayenne.

Together with Magna Powertrain, the Porsche Board members
Holger P. Härter (Finance and Controlling) and Michael Macht (Production und Logistics) recognized nine additional Porsche suppliers for their outstanding performance in fiscal year 2005/06: Thyssen-Krupp Automotive Systems GmbH (Bochum), Lear Corporation GmbH (Böblingen), Conti-Tech Kühner GmbH & Cie. KG (Oppenweiler), HS Genion GmbH (Krailling), SUSPA Holding GmbH (Altdorf), Arvin-Meritor Emissions Technologies GmbH (Augsburg), REGE Motorenteile GmbH & Co. KG (Hörselberg/Eisenach), APL Automobil-Prüftechnik Landau GmbH (Landau) and Kühne & Nagel (AG & Co. KG), Frankfurt/Main.

Porsche AG President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Wendelin Wiedeking, emphasized to the 330 guests in the Customer Center in its Leipzig plant just how important top quality cooperation between Porsche and its suppliers is: “We can only be successful in defending our leading position if we build vehicles that are better than those of our competitors. That means that every part is important, no matter how small it is."

Wiedeking pointed out the reliability of suppliers as being a key success factor: “Our customers expect premium vehicles and have zero tolerance for defects. That is why Porsche only considers those who are prepared to deliver top performance as being worthy of consideration as a supplier. We recognize excellent partners each year with the Porsche Supplier Award – as the standard for all the rest.” The challenges will be even greater in the future, commented the Porsche CEO. A further chapter will be added to the Porsche success story with the
Gran Turismo Panamera. For this model series, which will be introduced to the market in 2009, the sports car manufacturer will also require the full performance capabilities of its suppliers.
