Porsche Engineering Award” presented to three graduates of TU PragueWinning work supplies biomechanical findings for automobile industry

Stuttgart/Prague. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, and the Technical University of Prague yesterday presented the “Porsche Engineering Award” to three graduates of the university for the first time. As part of the graduation ceremonies for the Faculty of Engineering held in the Bethlehem Chapel in Prague, Dr. Peter Schäfer, Executive Manager of the Porsche Engineering Group, awarded first prize to Jaroslav Lukeš, whose work had investigated the resilience of the infrastructure of the invertebral disk. In their citation, the jury, which was composed of representatives from Porsche and the Technical University of Prague, emphasized that these types of biomechanical findings were of particular importance for the future requirements of the automobile industry.

The other prizewinners were Petr Strakoš and Natálie Součková, who were recognized for their work on the subject of real-time picture recognition and flow visualization. All three prizewinners received a monetary prize, while the overall winner was also offered a research position at Porsche Engineering Services s.r.o. (PES) in Prague.

Porsche and the Technical University of Prague have been collaborating in the area of technical calculation and simulation since 1996. The “Porsche Engineering Award” is presented each year to the three best theses written by students of the Technical University of Prague. This prize is intended to further cement relations between the two partners.
