Porsche has superb start to new year in North AmericaStrong demand for Cayman S on largest sales market

Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has made a superb start to the new year in North America. In January 2006, the manufacturer of premium sporty vehicles delivered 3,337 units to customers on its most important market, an increase of 46 percent on the 2,281 vehicles delivered in January 2005. Thus, Porsche has achieved the best January sales result in the US and Canada in the Company's history.

This growth was again driven by the sports car series. Sales of the 911 increased by 31 percent to 833 vehicles. The Boxster series, including the new Cayman S mid-range, enjoyed even stronger growth momentum, with figures rising by 191 percent to 1,430 vehicles. The Cayman S alone accounted for more than 1,000 of these units. This vehicle, only launched on the North American market two weeks ago, has been met with an overwhelmingly huge response. In January, the Carrera GT high performance sports car sold eleven units (January 2005: 19 units).

Deliveries of the Cayenne declined by six percent to 1,063 vehicles this January. This development is primarily a result of Porsche's policy of not using discounts to boost its sales. Nonetheless, the sales decline in January was considerably weaker than in the last few months.
