New Boxster Gets off to Brilliant Start in North AmericaPorsche Sales Strong Again

Stuttgart. In January 2005, sales in North America for Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart almost achieved the record sales of the same month of the previous year. In the USA and Canada, a total of 2,281 vehicles were delivered to customers; this is only 1% lower than the previous year’s figure of 2,314 units. Nevertheless, deliveries continued to remain on a high level, and in North America Porsche posted the second best January sales figures in the company’s history.

While deliveries of the Cayenne decreased to 1,132 units in January (minus 22%), sales of the sports car rose. 638 vehicles of the 911 model were sold (plus 6%) and 19 high-performance Carrera GT sports cars were delivered to customers. The success of the Boxster launch was stupendous. Although the new generation of the roadster was launched on the North American market only two weeks ago, deliveries of the Boxster model have already increased by 86% to 492 units.

The new sports car generations will continue to stimulate Porsche’s core business during the current year. For example, delivery of the new 911 Carrera Cabriolet will start in North America on March 12 – this means that another attractive variation of the 911 model will be available for customers just in time for the beginning of the cabrio season.
