Porsche has record October in North AmericaCayenne underscores its role as growth driver

Stuttgart. Stuttgart-based Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart again posted an increase in unit sales for North America – its most important market by far. In October 2004, 3,161 vehicles were delivered to customers in the USA and Canada; against the previous month with 2,791 units this is a plus of 13 percent. At the same time this is the best October sales figure ever achieved by Porsche in North America.

Once again the Cayenne impressively demonstrated its role as growth driver. In October 2,178 units of the sporty all-terrain vehicle were sold – a 62 percent increase against the previous month figure of 1,341 vehicles.

With a total of 983 vehicles, the sports cars sales were down year-on-year (minus 32 percent). 24 Carrera GTs were delivered to customers. 160 Boxsters were delivered (minus 69 percent) and 799 units of the 911 (minus 15 percent). However, Porsche is confident that both the new 911 and the new Boxster, which is to be launched in North America on January 15, 2005 will generate a positive stimulus for the sports cars.
