The last Sunday of every June, thousands of motorsport fans flock to Colorado Springs to attend The Broadmoor Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb - an invitational automobile climb to the summit of Pike’s Peak. Also known as “The Race to the Clouds”, drivers are often faced with severe weather conditions ranging from thunderstorms to blinding snow all while trying to navigate 156 turns over a 12.42-mile course finishing 14,115 feet above sea level.

This year the race celebrated its 100th running on June 26, 2022. In anticipation of this landmark event, professional rally car driver and Pike’s Peak Invitational veteran Ken Block had something special planned.

The Hoonipigasus.

Hoonipigasus 2

Designed by artist Trouble Andrew, a.k.a. Guccighostas as an homage to the legendary 1971 Porsche 917/20 “Pink Pig”, Hoonipigasus was created with one goal in mind – to be the fastest overall at the most iconic and legendary hill climb in the world.

Hoonipigasus 3

Built by BBi Autosport alongside Hoonigan and Hoonigan Racing Division, and Mobil 1 this one-of-kind Porsche is the first-ever mid-engine, AWD, twin-turbo vintage Porsche 911. Bringing 1400hp and customized specifically to Block’s driving style.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of testing time and an eventual engine failure during practice, Block and the Hoonipigasus weren’t able continue in the official Pike’s Peak Climb. But plans for Hoonipigasus to compete in 2023 are already underway and look for Hoonipigasus to make appearances in future events, content coverage, activations and more throughout the year.
