Porsche (China) Motors Limited to recall part of imported 2015-2018 Macan vehicles

Commencing from 1 April, 2020, Porsche (China) Motors Limited will recall part of imported 2015-2018 Macan vehicles manufactured from 5 March, 2014 to 14 March, 2018. The recall was filed by Porsche China to the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Defective Automobile Products Recall Regulation and its implementation measures. The recall will affect a total of 117,425 vehicles.

On affected vehicles, the service cover can contact the flow nozzle on the filter flange of the fuel pump when a high load is applied via the rear seat system. If a high load is applied over a sufficiently long period of time, the nozzle may develop cracks. As a result, an unspecified amount of fuel can seep out resulting in a fuel odor, posing a safety hazard. Upon the recall taking effect, Porsche China will commission all authorized service centers nationwide to examine or replace the service cover of the fuel pump free of charge. Additionally, fuel filter flanges and, in particular, the area of the flow nozzle will be inspected for cracks and replaced if cracks are found.

Due to the preparation of spare parts, the service cover of the fuel pump will be examined and repaired free of charge for the vehicles involved before October 2020; after that, the improved service cover of the fuel pump will be replaced free of charge for the vehicles involved.

Porsche China will notify the relevant owners via registered mail, phone call, text message, etc. Affected users are encouraged to visit Porsche China's official website http://www.porsche.com/china or call the toll-free customer service centre hotline on 400 820 5911 or Porsche authorized dealers to find out more information about this recall. Users can also visit the website of the Defective Product Administrative Centre of the State Administration for Market Regulation (dpac.samr.gov.cn), or its WeChat account (SAMRDPAC) for more information. In addition, users can also call the hotline of the Defective Product Administrative Centre of the State Administration for Market Regulation at 010-59799616 to reflect the problems in the implementation of the recall or submit defect clues.
