Porsche (China) Motors Limited to recall part of imported Panamera

Commencing from December 28, 2018, Porsche (China) Motors Limited will recall part of imported 2017-2019 Panamera vehicles manufactured from 21 March, 2016 to 01 Nov, 2018. The recall was filed by Porsche China to the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Defective Automobile Products Recall Regulation and its implementation measures. The recall will affect a total of 21,242 vehicles.

The recall is related to a potential issue with the electric power steering assistance. The issue is due to a software failure which fails to correctly recognize the signal of vehicle speed and power steering assistance, and results in the function momentarily or intermittently unavailable. In the case of disabled electric power steering assistance, the driver may have to provide the increased force to the steering wheel. In certain traffic situations the disabled electric power steering assistance might lead to a higher risk of a crash, presenting potential safety hazards.

Upon the recall taking effect, Porsche China will commission all authorized Porsche Centres nationwide to upgrade the related software free of charge for all vehicles affected by the potential issue.

Porsche China will notify the relevant owners via registered mail. Affected users are encouraged to visit Porsche China's official website http://www.porsche.com/china or call the toll-free customer service centre hotline on 400 820 5911 or authorized Porsche Centres to find out more information about this recall.
