Porsche China takes organisational structure upgrade with focus on product management and brand communicationChange of Management at Porsche China

Porsche China is to establish the Product Management Department to integrate all product-related fuctions and highlight the topics of product innovation, homologation and technical regulation.
Mr. Lars Buchwald, current Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, has been appointed Vice President of Product Management of Porsche China.
Mr. Sky Qiao has been promoted to Vice President of Marketing of Porsche China, concentrating on brand management, marketing strategy and development in China.

Shanghai.To keep pace with the fast-changing demands of Chinese customers and the Chinese market, and to deepen its digital mobility and e-mobility strategy, Porsche China has established the Product Management Department with integration of all product-related fuctions from requirement definition to delivery. Mr. Lars Buchwald has been appointed Vice President of the Product Management Department, effective 1 July 2021. At the same time, Mr. Sky Qiao was appointed Vice President of Marketing. He will be taking over from Mr. Daniel Schmollinger, who has assumed the position of CEO and Managing Director of Porsche Cars Australia.

The newly estabilished Product Management Department has integrated the functions of product, homologation, Smart Mobility (charging & connect), and strategic projects. Mr. Lars Buchwald, current Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, will take over the role of the first Vice President of Product Management. Mr. Buchwald joined Porsche China in 2020 and has devoted more than 14 years of his professional career to the Porsche brand since 2007. With abundant experience in product management, connectivity services, smart mobility, digital transformation, as well as strategy, he will play a crucial role in setting up the new department in order to develop the business further.

Meanwhile, the Marketing Department of Porsche China will concentrate on brand management, marketing strategy and development in China. As the Vice President of Marketing, Mr. Sky Qiao will be responsible for brand positioning, Porsche experience diversification, motorsports and sports car culture cultivation, as well as sponsorship and partnerships through his extensive experience in marketing. Since joining Porsche China in 2010, Mr. Qiao has held positions of Director and Senior Manager in Marketing Department and Porsche Experience Centre, leading a number of major marketing campaigns and contributing to the launch of Porsche T-mall Flagship Store, as well as many brand collaboration projects.

Mr. Buchwald holds an International Master of Business Administration degree from University of Cooperative Education, Germany.Mr. Qiao received a Bachelor of Information Management and Systems degree from Shanghai Ocean University and University of Tasmania, Australia.
